As mentioned in the earlier pAsuram, wouldn\u2019t only those who meditate on the activities that he carried out to protect the world and attain him, flourish!<\/p>\n<p>Let us go through the pAsuram and its meanings:<\/p>\n<p><em>pazhi pAvam kaiyagaRRi pal kAlum ninnai<\/em><br \/>\n<em> vazhi vAzhvAr vAzhvarAm mAdho \u2013 vazhuvinRi<\/em><br \/>\n<em> nAraNan than nAmAngaL nanguNarndhu nangEththum<\/em><br \/>\n<em> kAraNangam thAm udaiyar thAm<\/em><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Word for Word Meaning<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>pazhi \u2013 blame; disrepute<br \/>\npAvam \u2013 bad deeds carried out knowingly<br \/>\nkaiyagaRRi \u2013 removing<br \/>\npalgAlum \u2013 always<br \/>\nninnai \u2013 you<br \/>\nvazhi\u00a0 vAzhvAr \u2013 those who attain you through the ways ordained in SAsthram (sacred text)<br \/>\nnAraNan than \u2013 nArAyaNa, your<br \/>\nnAmangaL \u2013 divine names<br \/>\nnangu uNarndhu \u2013 knowing well<br \/>\nnangu Eththum kAraNangaL thAm udaiyAr thAm \u2013 those who have the means to worship you well<\/p>\n<p>(thus the two types of people)<br \/>\nvAzhavarAm \u2013 they will live with happiness<br \/>\nmAdhO \u2013 is this any surprise!<\/p>\n<h3><strong>vyAKyAnam<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>pazhi pAvam kaiyagaRRi<\/strong> \u2013 avoiding the blame which the people of the world heap on them and the sins which result out of that<\/p>\n<p><strong>pazhi pAvam<\/strong> \u2013 <em>pazhi<\/em> is that which comes because of others heaping blame when one does not do anything on his own. <em>pAvam<\/em> results when one knowingly causes harm to others. Removing these two. In other words, removing the two inimical forces: blame which comes without a cause and sin which comes with a cause. Should one suffer the result of an action which he has not carried out at all [blame]?\u00a0 This is also due the result of a sin [committed earlier]. Does he have to spoil the apt position for himself due to these?<\/p>\n<p><strong>palgAlum ninnai vazhi vAzhvAr vAzhvarAm<\/strong> \u2013 Those who worship you as ordained in SAsthrams \u00a0(sacred texts) and attain you, will live without any trouble. The means adopted to attain him and the benefit of attaining him would be cause for happiness. Even though it is said that \u201c<em>na sukhAth sukham labhyathE<\/em>\u201d (one cannot attain happiness through happiness), this does not apply to <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\">emperumAn<\/a> related matter. Here, both the means (the effort that one takes) and the benefit that one attains will both be happy, without any difference.<\/p>\n<p><strong>mAdhO<\/strong> \u2013 this word is like a conjunction. \u201cIs it a surprise?\u201d asks <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/bhuthaththazhwar\/\">AzhwAr<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>vazhuvinRi nAraNan than nAmangaL nangu Eththum<\/strong> \u2013 meditating well upon the divine names of <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\">emperumAn<\/a> without any break. Meditating upon the divine names of emperumAn which are faultless and hence is the reason for meditating.<\/p>\n<p><strong>nAraNan than nAmangaL<\/strong> \u2013 it is like speaking about one\u2019s mother.<\/p>\n<p><strong>nangu uNarndhu<\/strong> \u2013 knowing through devotion<\/p>\n<p><strong>nangu Eththum<\/strong> \u2013 worshipping such that one cannot sustain otherwise<\/p>\n<p><strong>kAraNangaL<\/strong> \u2013 the reason for reciting [his divine names]. That is, devotion; singing about <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\">emperumAn<\/a> which is the cause for devotion; the desire which is the cause for singing; the puNya (virtue) which is the cause for desire; emperumAn\u2019s mercy which is the cause for puNya \u2013 those who have these will live happily (those who attain puNya due to emperumAn\u2019s mercy, due to which they have desire towards emperumAn, due to which they sing about him, due to which they develop devotion towards emperumAn, will prosper). Thus, those who worship you after removing their blame and sins and worship you for a long time and those who recite your divine names and worship you without any break, will both prosper. <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/bhuthaththazhwar\/\">AzhwAr<\/a> says that only those who receive his mercy will have affection towards him. If the pAtam (text) is <strong>thAraNangaL thAmudaiyAr <\/strong>[instead of <strong>kAraNangaL thammudaiyAr<\/strong>], \u00a0<em>thAraNam<\/em> will refer to sustenance.
