Just as <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/nammazhwar\/\">nammAzhwAr<\/a> says in thiruvAimozhi 8-10-2 \u201c<em>viyan mUvulagum pOyth thAnE thAnE AnAlum<\/em>\u201d (even if one were to get all the wealth in all the worlds and also <em>kaivaylam<\/em> (<a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/06\/thathva-thrayam-chith-who-am-i\/\">AthmA<\/a> enjoying itself instead of carrying out service to emperumAn)), AzhwAr tells his heart not to have desire for the lowly benefits and worship emperumAn.<\/p>\n<p>Let us enjoy the pAsuram and its meanings:<\/p>\n<p><em>nanRu piNi mUppuk kaiyagaRRi nAngUzhi<\/em><br \/>\n<em> ninRu nilam muzhudhum ANdAlum enRum<\/em><br \/>\n<em> vidal Azhi nenjamE vENdinEn kaNdAy<\/em><br \/>\n<em> adal Azhi koNdAn mAttu anbu<\/em><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Word by Word Meanings<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Azhi nenjamE \u2013 Oh heart, deep like the ocean!<br \/>\npiNi mUppu nanRu kai agaRRi \u2013 getting rid of disease and old age, well (and attaining <em>kaivalyam<\/em>)<br \/>\nnAngu Uzhi ninRu \u2013 being stable for four <em>yugas<\/em> (several eons)<br \/>\nnilam muzhudhum ANdAlum \u2013 even if one were to get all the wealth to rule all the worlds<br \/>\nadal Azhi koNdAn mAttu \u2013 the one who has the belligerent divine disc on his hands<br \/>\nanbu \u2013 friendliness<br \/>\nvidal \u2013 do not let go of<br \/>\nvENdinEn kaNdAy \u2013 behold, I am beseeching<\/p>\n<h3><strong>vyAkyAnam<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>nanRu piNi mUppuk kaiyagaRRi<\/strong> \u2013 getting rid of diseases, old age etc very well. This implies <em>kaivalyam <\/em>(a stage in which AthmA enjoys itself).<\/p>\n<p><strong>nAngu Uzhi ninRu nilam muzhudhum ANdAlum<\/strong> \u2013 even if one were to rule the universe until the entity time exists (several eons). This implies the wealth of entities such as <em>brahmA<\/em> (the deity for creation). Thus if one were to get both <em>aiSvaryam<\/em> (wealth) and <em>kaivalyam <\/em>(AthmA enjoying itself)&#8230;.<\/p>\n<p><strong>enRum vidal<\/strong> \u2013 never let go of the affection towards <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\">emperumAn<\/a>. <em>aiSvaryam<\/em> (wealth) is transient. Compared to service to emperumAn, <em>kaivlayam<\/em> is very lowly. The very fact that these two cannot equal emperumAn by any yardstick should be sufficient to discard them.
