focused with at most love towards him, and asks &#8211;\u00a0 when there is so much of area in this world, what is the reason for your generosity to be growing towards jIyar<\/strong><\/a><strong>)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In the previous pAsuram \u2013 He talked about how if he talks about celebrating the purifying quality of <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a> when one should be involved in his quality of enjoyability, it would be a blemish for those who are immersed in his quality of enjoyability and are weak out of love;<\/p>\n<p>In this pAsuram \u2013 Due to the grace of those noble ones for the blemish to be rectified, both his inner and outer senses due to utmost love towards <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a> has fully involved in it, says <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/03\/26\/thiruvarangathu-amudhanar\/\">amudhanAr<\/a>, and also, he is asking himself &#8211; what the reason could be for <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a>\u2019s divine generosity to grow surging towards me when there are so many sentient in this <\/em>eyes<br \/>\n<em>kANa \u2013 <\/em>seeing your highness at all times<br \/>\n<em>karudhidum \u2013 <\/em>is what it wishes for;<br \/>\nwhen there are so many being born<br \/>\n<em>idhu vaiyaththil \u2013 <\/em>in this earth<br \/>\n<em>pudai sUzh \u2013 <\/em>that is surrounded fully in all sides<br \/>\n<em>kadal \u2013 <\/em>by ocean,<br \/>\n<em>en \u2013 <\/em>due to what reason<br \/>\n<em>un \u2013 <\/em>your<br \/>\n<em>vaNmai \u2013 <\/em>generosity (<em>audhAryam<\/em>)<br \/>\n<em>en pAl \u2013 <\/em>towards me<br \/>\n<em>vaLarndhadhu \u2013 <\/em>has grown?<br \/>\nazhaikkum \u2013 will call (the name);<br \/>\n<em>kaN karudhidum \u2013 <\/em>eyes will contemplate \u2013 says due to \u2018<em>chEthana samAdhi\u2019<\/em>\u00a0 (it is not the eyes themselves, but the AthmA that directs the eyes);<\/p>\n<p><strong>vyAkyAnam<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>naiyum manam un guNangaLai unni \u2013 <\/em><\/strong>Since it is the reason for not fulfilling the wish of bharathAzhvAn who came thinking \u2018<em>EbiScha sachivais sArdham\u2019<\/em> (~I have come along with everyone, please come back to ayOdhyA), and since it is the reason for leaving periya pirAttiyar in the forest who had said \u2018<em>ananyA rAghavENAham\u2019<\/em> (~I will never separate from rAghavan), and since it is the reason for giving up of <em>iLaiya perumAL<\/em> (lakShmaNa) who had said \u2018<em>guNair dhAsyam upAgatha:\u2019<\/em> (I am his servant who am lost to his qualities), those auspicious qualities of sarvESvaran would invoke fear in his devotees.<\/p>\n<p>unlike that, my mind is completely staying weak inside due to the experience of contemplating <em>sauSeelyam<\/em>, <em>saulabhyam<\/em>, <em>vAthsalyam<\/em>, etc., qualities of you who has incarnated with a vow to save the sentient entities who are immersed in the <em>leelA vibhUthi <\/em>(this world), and scorched by disagreeableness.<\/p>\n<p>As said in \u2018<em>AhlAdha seetha nEthrAmbu: pulakeekrutha gAthravAn sadhA paraguNAvishta:<\/em>\u2019 (tears flowing from eyes, hairs bristling, mind always enjoying emperumAn\u2019s qualities), he is saying that his mind suffered the suffering a sentient would go through.<\/p>\n<p>His auspicious qualities are so enjoyable that even the non-sentient mind also would melt, you see!<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>en nA irundhu em aiyan irAmAnusan enRu azhaikkum <u>aru vinaiyEn<\/u> \u2013 <\/em><\/strong>by <em>kAkAkshi nyAyam<\/em> (crow seeing sideways), (<strong><em>aru vinaiyEn<\/em><\/strong>) <em>needs<\/em> to be included for previous and next phrases.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>en nA \u2013 <\/em><\/strong>my tongue (<em>jihvA<\/em>)<\/p>\n<p>From time eternal till now, it was engaged in other lowly matters; my tongue which was \u2018<em>asath keerthana kAnthAra parivarthana pAmsulai\u2019 <\/em>(tongue is looking around to praise some one, like looking around lost in a forest);<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>irundhu \u2013 <\/em><\/strong>experiencing your auspicious qualities, it stayed completely involved in it fixed in one place; even for you who granted this it would be difficult to shake it off from the place; like the creeping plant that would be having only the stem, my tongue would talk about only one thing (now).<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>em aiyan \u2013 <\/em><\/strong>As said by \u2018<em>asannEva bhavathi\u2019<\/em> (I was staying like a rock), I was staying like a non-sentient, and, as said by \u2018<em>santhamEnamthathOvidhu:\u2019 <\/em>(He becomes a noble one (who understands about brahmam))<em>, <\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a> gave his grace and made me something &#8211; thinking about this grace, and considering what is said in \u2018<em>sahi vidhyAthastham janayathi\u2019<\/em> (AchAryan gives the birth of knowledge), and, \u2018<em>gururmathA guru:pithA\u2019<\/em> (guru is mother, guru is father), and, \u2018<em>anRu nAn piRandhilEn piRandha pin maRandhilEn<\/em> [thiruchchandha viruththam &#8211; 64]\u2019 (before getting birth of knowledge I was like unborn; after getting the birth of knowledge I have not forgotten about emperumAn), and \u2018<em>mAtha pithA yuvathayas thanayA vibhUthis sarvam<\/em> [<a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/index.php\/2016\/12\/sthothra-rathnam-5\/\">sthOthra rathnam &#8211; 5<\/a>]\u2019 (mother, father, women, children, are all <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/18\/nammazhwar-english\/\">nammAzhvAr<\/a> for me), and \u2018<em>thandhai nal thAy thAram<\/em> [<a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/index.php\/2016\/06\/arththi-prabandham-3\/\">Arththi prabandham \u2013 3<\/a>]\u2019 (Father, good mother, wife, (brothers, huge wealth is all you for me <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/&lt;a href='https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/'&gt;emperumAnAr&lt;\/a&gt;\/\">ethirAsA<\/a>)), and in thousand such references it is talked about this special relationship;\u00a0 considering you as the absolute relation; considering your relationship,<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>irAmAnusan \u2013 <\/em><\/strong>when incarnated as younger brother of <em>chakravarthi thirumagan <\/em>(SrI rAman)<em>,<\/em> he said \u2018<em>nacha seethA thvayA heenA nacha aham api rAghava \u2013 muhUrtham api jeevAvOjalAn mathsyA vivOdhruthau\u2019 <\/em>(Like how a fish would lose its life if left outside the water, seethA and I will lose our life if we are separated from you (if you go to the forest alone by yourself)), was <em>ananyArhar<\/em> (not wishing for anyone else) like pirAtti, and won <em>mEghanAthan<\/em> (<em>indhrajith<\/em>) who is the enemy of devotees \u2013 involved in such auspicious qualities, and which is shown by this divine name as well.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a <\/em><\/strong>like how in the shore of the pool <em>SrI gajEndhrAzhvAn<\/em> wailed loudly, (my tongue) called (your divine name);\u00a0 <em>azhaikkum \u2013 <\/em>calling (the name).<\/p>\n<p>In case of emperumAn that divine name is called after forgetting to call for some time, as said in \u2018<em>dhasyubhi: mushithEnaiva yuktham AkranthithumbruSm\u2019<\/em> (If thieves come together to steal, one would shout to alert) (In the same way one calls emperumAn\u2019s name when there is difficulty of senses (which are like thieves) which trouble the person).<\/p>\n<p>It is unlike that here, it is wished to call <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a>\u2019s name while continuously thinking about him itself;<\/p>\n<p>AzhvAr too called with loud voice thinking about what happened in the past, as \u2018<em>puNarA ninRa maramEzh anRu eydha oru vil valavAvO, puNarEy ninRa maram iraNdin naduvE pOna mudhalvAvO <\/em>[<a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/index.php\/thiruvaimozhi\/\">thiruvAimozhi<\/a> \u2013 6.10.5]\u2019 ((\u2018O\u2019 is a calling of Him about the situation) \u2013 you broke through the seven trees by His arrow, you went in between the two trees).<\/p>\n<p>That is, due to the overflowing love born out of experiencing your auspicious qualities, my mind fully called your name of glories;<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>aru vinayEn kaiyum thozhum \u00ad &#8211; <\/em><\/strong>As said in \u2018<em>nAnE nAnAvidha narakam pugum pAvam seydhEn<\/em> [periya thirumozhi \u2013 1.9.2]\u2019 (I myself (automatically) performs sins that would set me up for various types of hells), and \u2018<em>pAvamE seydhu pAviyAnEn<\/em> [periya thirumozhi \u2013 1.9.9]\u2019 (~became a sinner by doing only sins), and, \u2018<em>na nindhitham karma thadhasthi lOkE <\/em><em>sahasraSO yanna mayA vyadhAyi<\/em>\u2019 (<a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/index.php\/2017\/01\/sthothra-rathnam-23\/\">sthOthra rathnam 23<\/a> &#8211; There are thousands of karmas in this world, I have accumulated all the disapproved karmas), and,<\/p>\n<p>\u2018and,<\/p>\n<p>\u2018<em>yAvachcha yachcha dhuritham sakalasyajanthO: thAvachcha thaththadhadhigam cha mamAsthi sathyam\u2019<\/em>, (all the sins committed by all the people in the world for how many ever times, sins above that level are truly present in me),<\/p>\n<p>hands of me who from time eternal, made the faculties that belong to you to be belonging to inappropriate matters, and due to that, performed completely cruel sins, and now, involving in the auspicious qualities of yours, is doing <em>anjali bandham<\/em> (<em>badhdhanjali<\/em> (joining of palms with reverence)) towards you.<\/p>\n<p>You see, <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/03\/26\/thiruvarangathu-amudhanar\/\">amudhanAr<\/a> is standing shoulder-to-shoulder with (doing the same thing as) those living in <em>SvEtha dhveepam<\/em> as said in \u2018<em>badhdhAnjali puda hrushtA: nama ithyEva vAdhina:\u2019<\/em> (~with automatically joined palms, and shouting nama: those in SvEtha dhveepam ran towards emperumAn).<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>kaN karudhidum kANa \u2013 <\/em><\/strong>My eyes which till now was thinking about seeing other lowly matters, as said in \u2018<em>undhan meyyil piRangia seer<\/em> [rAmAnusa nURRanthAdhi \u2013 104]\u2019, is now wishing to see the divine body of your highness which is bright due to the enjoyable auspicious qualities of yours.<\/p>\n<p>As said in \u2018<em>kadhA dhrakShyAmahE rAjan jagatha: klESa nASanam<\/em> [SrI rAmAyaNam \u2013 83]<em>\u2019 <\/em>(bharathan prays \u2013 when will I see rAman who can remove the sorrows of the world), and,<\/p>\n<p>\u2018<em>kANumARu aruLAy<\/em> [<a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/index.php\/thiruvaimozhi\/\">thiruvAimozhi<\/a> \u2013 7.2.3]\u2019 (~ grace me to see you),\u00a0 and,<\/p>\n<p>\u2018<em>kANa vArAy <\/em>[<a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/index.php\/thiruvaimozhi\/\">thiruvAimozhi<\/a> \u2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/index.php\/2017\/03\/thiruvaimozhi-4-7-1-seelamillach-chiriyan\/\">4.7.1<\/a> \/ 6.9.4 \/ 8.5.1 \/ 8.5.2 \/ 9.2.4]\u2019 (~come (for me) to see), and,<\/p>\n<p>\u2018<em>kadhAnu sAkShAthkara vANi chakShushA<\/em> [gadhya thrayam]<em>\u2019<\/em> (When will I see my lord bhagavAn nArAyaNan), and, \u2018<em>nEthrAsAth kuru kareeSa sadhA\u2019<\/em> (When will I be able to see emperumAn (dhEvap perumAL)),<\/p>\n<p>SrI bharathAzhvAn, AzhvAr, and AchAryas divined these in the matter of emperumAn;<\/p>\n<p>in the same way <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/03\/26\/thiruvarangathu-amudhanar\/\">amudhanAr<\/a> is divining this (in the matter of <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>It is said too, \u2018<em>rUpam thavAsthu yathirAja dhruSOr mamAgrE\u2019<\/em> (~I, without any effort of mine, shall see your beautiful form to the satisfaction of my eyes);<\/p>\n<p>If asking whether it is appropriate to say that eyes which are non-sentient as \u2018would wish to see\u2019, as said in \u2018<em>kAmArththAhi prathikrupaNA chEthanA chEthanEshu\u2019<\/em> (~If someone grows with desire, he would do anything even which should not be done), due to the spell of love, talking about it as a sentient is acceptable.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>kadal pudai sUzh vaiyam idhanil \u2013 <\/em><\/strong>When there are so many sentient in this world surrounded by oceans on all sides;<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>un vaNmai \u2013 <\/em><\/strong>generosity of yours, you who came and incarnated with a vow to save all the sentient, is making only me to be involved in this way, and also, my senses\/faculties also are involved individually \u2013 such generosity of you who graced this to happen \u2013 is the thought.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>en pAl en vaLarndhadhuvE \u2013 <\/em><\/strong>It grew further and further towards me only; what is the reason for this \u2013 I would not know \u2013 I am ignorant. Is there any effort\/eligibility on my side? Knowing that it is not there, I ask you this question. Your highness knows everything. If your highness knows anything about this, please reply about it.<\/p>\n<p>Since <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a> did not seem to reply to that, <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/03\/26\/thiruvarangathu-amudhanar\/\">amudhanAr<\/a> concludes that <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a> did this without any reason, and becomes happy.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/03\/26\/thiruvarangathu-amudhanar\/\">thiruvarangaththu amudhanAr<\/a> celebrates <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a>\u2019s generosity in each pAsuram; it is like a delicate youth (prince) who knows the enjoyment of food, would wish for ghee for every handful of food.<\/p>\n<p><strong>From AzhwAr thirunagari SrI u.vE. vidhwAn thirumalai nallAn chakravarththi rAmakrishNa iyengAr\u2019s \u2018<em>amudha virundhu<\/em>\u2019 :<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>naiyum manam un guNangaLai unni \u2013<\/em><\/strong> By this it talks about the inner sense, that is, mind. Saying these as the doer shows that without expecting <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/03\/26\/thiruvarangathu-amudhanar\/\">amudhanAr<\/a> they are automatically attracted to <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a>\u2019s qualities.<\/p>\n<p><em>un guNangaLai \u2013 <\/em>Qualities like the beauty of your divine body. Since the other senses talked about in the pAsuram are related to body, the qualities of <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a> also shall be about his divine body.<\/p>\n<p>Now, it can also be about his qualities like kindness, generosity etc., which show the nature of his body which is not of material realm.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>en nA irundhu em aiyan irAmAnusan enRu azhaikkum \u2013 <\/em><\/strong>Since it is your divine name, the tongue that got the taste of it would not stop saying it.\u00a0 It would be sweet for anyone who recites his name; in addition, if there is a relationship with him, it would be a double treat. So my tongue would always be talking about our relationship and your name.<\/p>\n<p><em>em aiyan \u2013 <\/em>our father.
