{"id":13718,"date":"2017-02-23T11:25:41","date_gmt":"2017-02-23T11:25:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/?p=13718"},"modified":"2017-02-23T11:25:41","modified_gmt":"2017-02-23T11:25:41","slug":"ramanusa-nurranthadhi-79","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/index.php\/2017\/02\/ramanusa-nurranthadhi-79\/","title":{"rendered":"rAmAnusa nURRanthAdhi \u2013 79"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><small>SrI:\u00a0 SrImathE SatakOpAya nama:\u00a0 SrImathE rAmAnujAya nama:\u00a0 SrImath varavaramunayE nama:<\/small><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/index.php\/2015\/07\/ramanusa-nurranthadhi\/\">Full Series<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/index.php\/2017\/02\/ramanusa-nurranthadhi-78\/\">&lt;&lt; previous (karuththil pugundhu)<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Introduction (given by <\/strong><a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/mamunigal\/\"><strong>maNavALa mAmunigaL<\/strong><\/a><strong>)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In the previous pAsuram, <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/03\/26\/thiruvarangathu-amudhanar\/\">amudhanAr<\/a> showed his state, that as <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a> gave him the true knowledge, other types of knowledge would not be set in his mind; In this pAsuram \u2013 even though having taste\/interest to get saved (from the material cycle), some are losing the best true knowledge, by ignoring this required aspect (love towards <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a>\u2019s divine feet), such are the people attached to worldly affairs \u2013 so <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/03\/26\/thiruvarangathu-amudhanar\/\">amudhanAr<\/a> feels sad.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Introduction (given by <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/04\/08\/pillai-lokam-jiyar\/\"><strong>piLLailOkam jIyar<\/strong><\/a><strong>)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In the previous pAsuram \u2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a> removed the blemish in my mind, reformed it, and let true knowledge be born, and made me subservient to Sriya:pathi \u2013 would my mind go looking for someone else after this? (in previous pAsuram he actually mentioned that his mind would not be set in other false meanings; here it is mentioned that he said that his mind would not go after someone else; that is, going after someone else would itself imply that the mind set is in false meanings) &#8211; divined <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/03\/26\/thiruvarangathu-amudhanar\/\">amudhanAr<\/a> about the strength of his stability in this matter.<\/p>\n<p>In this pAsuram \u2013 even though the sentient beings in this material world also have got the same opportunity to be in this way, instead of that, the words of <em>bAhyas and kudhrushtis <\/em>(those who reject and misinterpret vEdhas), who talk whatever came to their mouth\/mind about <a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/06\/thathva-thrayam-chith-who-am-i\/\">AthmA<\/a>\u2019s <em>dhEha parimANathvam <\/em>(<a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/06\/thathva-thrayam-chith-who-am-i\/\">AthmA<\/a> is same as body)<em>, kShanikathvam<\/em> (momentariness)<em>,<\/em> etc. \u2013 (<a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a>) driving away the meanings\/goals of <em>\u00a0<\/em>their philosophies without trace, and earlier when their assigning of wrong meanings to vEdhas were spread everywhere in the world, (<a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a>) had shown the true meaning;<\/p>\n<p>So even though there is <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a>, due to thinking that he is similar to them, they had left from him and were hoping against hope in their minds whether some other deity would save them, and they were in vain, and were uselessly having doubts\/uncertainties in their minds and got ruined \u2013 seeing such state of them, <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/03\/26\/thiruvarangathu-amudhanar\/\">amudhanAr<\/a> feels sad.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/thiruvarangathu-amudhanar.emperumAnAr-at-heart.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-10597\" src=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/thiruvarangathu-amudhanar.emperumAnAr-at-heart.jpg\" alt=\"thiruvarangathu-amudhanar.emperumAnAr-at-heart\" width=\"354\" height=\"480\" srcset=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/thiruvarangathu-amudhanar.emperumAnAr-at-heart.jpg 354w, https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/thiruvarangathu-amudhanar.emperumAnAr-at-heart-221x300.jpg 221w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 354px) 100vw, 354px\" \/><\/a><em>thiruvarangaththu amudhanAr (how do we make him happy now after 1000 years?)<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>poyyaich churakkum poruLaith thuRandhu indhap phUthalaththE<\/em><br \/>\n<em> meyyaip purakkum irAmAnusan niRka vERu nammai <\/em><br \/>\n<em> uyyak koLLa valla dheyvam ingi yAdhu enRu ularndhu avamE <\/em><br \/>\n<em> aiyappadA niRpar vaiyyaththuLLOr nallaRivu izhandhE\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0&#8211; brahmam<em>\u2019s mAyA SapaLitha-thva <\/em>(brahmam is covered by mAyA; so, though brahmam is one, looking at reflection on bodies it thinks there are many <a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/06\/thathva-thrayam-chith-who-am-i\/\">Athmas<\/a> (and those bodies are NOT real)),<em> upAdhi miSrathvam <\/em>(brahmam is one, and is reflected on bodies and appears to brahmam to be many <a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/06\/thathva-thrayam-chith-who-am-i\/\">AthmAs<\/a> (and those bodies are real)), <em>vikArithvam <\/em>(brahmam undergoes changes), etc.<br \/>\n<em>churakkum \u2013 <\/em>and explaining more and more in these (wrong) ways,<br \/>\n<em>poruLai \u2013 <\/em>such meaning of those philosophies that reject or misinterpret vEdhas,<br \/>\n<em>Otti \u2013 <\/em>driving away (such wrong ones),<br \/>\n<em>irAmAnusan \u2013 <\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a><br \/>\n<em>purakkum \u2013 <\/em>nurtures<br \/>\n<em>meyyai \u2013 <\/em>true meaning<br \/>\n<em>indha bhUthalaththE \u2013 <\/em>in this earth;<br \/>\n<em>niRka \u2013<\/em> (he is) waiting and looking at leading path, hoping, whether anyone would come (to learn);<br \/>\n(but) due to thinking of <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a> as someone like us (<em>sajAtheeya budhdhi)<\/em>, they disregard him,<br \/>\n<em>valla &#8211; <\/em>can<br \/>\n<em>vERu \u2013 <\/em>other<br \/>\n<em>dheyvam \u2013<\/em> god \/ deity<br \/>\n<em>uyyak koLLa \u2013<\/em> save<br \/>\n<em>nammai &#8211;<\/em> us<br \/>\n<em>ingi yAdhu enRu \u2013<\/em> (they) search whether (such deity is) present anywhere here,<br \/>\n<em>ularndhu \u2013 <\/em>due to anguish in their mind (due to not finding such deity), their bodies become dry \/ in vain,<br \/>\n<em>izhandhu \u2013<\/em> (and) not getting<br \/>\n<em>nal aRivu \u2013 <\/em>the true knowledge that helps in realizing that this (<a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a>&#8216;s divine feet) is our destiny which gives true meaning, and thus get saved;<br \/>\neven though this true matter is your savior,<br \/>\n<em>vaiyaththu uLLOr \u2013 <\/em>those in the earth<br \/>\n<em>avamE \u2013 <\/em>(are) uselessly<br \/>\n<em>aiyappadA niRpar \u2013 <\/em>having doubts\/uncertain minds.<br \/>\nOh! what bad state this is of them!\u00a0 &#8211; is the thought.<\/p>\n<p>For <em>\u2018poyyaich churakkum\u2019 etc \u2013<\/em> its meaning is also as follows &#8211; body which due to the nature of getting created and destroyed, and thus keeps changing, is considered as false (not stable); due to series of births that would make us think more and more that the body is <a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/06\/thathva-thrayam-chith-who-am-i\/\">AthmA<\/a> itself and would create the feeling of being independent (from emperumAn), &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a> drove away such aspects by his advises in this earth, and protects <a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/06\/thathva-thrayam-chith-who-am-i\/\">AthmA<\/a> which is in the form of truth and would be the truth;<\/p>\n<p>when such <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a> (who removed the false (body) and advised the truth (<a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/06\/thathva-thrayam-chith-who-am-i\/\">AthmA<\/a>)), is present\/available;<\/p>\n<p>By thamizh grammar, <em>ingu yAdhenRu <\/em>is written (as well as recited) as <em>ing<\/em><strong><u>i<\/u> <\/strong><em>yAdhEnRu<\/em>;\u00a0 this is similar to \u2018<em>umakk<\/em><strong><u>i<\/u> <\/strong><em>yAn\u2019.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>vyAkyAnam<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>poyyaich churakkum poruLaith thuRandhu \u2013 <\/em><\/strong><em>poy \u2013 <\/em>untrue. <em>churakkum poruLai \u2013 <\/em>production of more and more such falsities by those who reject or misinterpret vEdhas. As said in \u2018<em>asannEva bhavathi, asath brahmEthi vEdhachEth\u2019<\/em> ( who understands brahmam as <em>asath<\/em>, he also become <em>asath<\/em>; he who understands brahmam as <em>sath<\/em> becomes that as well),\u00a0 that is thinking wrongly where knowledge that is absent, attaches wrong attributes, or mistakes for something else (<em>agyAna, anyathA gyAna, viparItha gyAna<\/em>).<\/p>\n<p>They are \u2013 (philosophy names in parentheses below are based on text by <strong>AzhwAr thirunagari SrI u.vE. vidhwAn thirumalai nallAn chakravarththi rAmakrishNa iyengAr<\/strong>) <strong>svami<\/strong> \u2013<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; thinking of <a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/06\/thathva-thrayam-chith-who-am-i\/\">AthmA<\/a> as <em>dhEha parimANathva (<\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/06\/thathva-thrayam-chith-who-am-i\/\">AthmA<\/a> and body are same by evolving<em>) <\/em>(jaina philosophy)<em>, <\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8211; kShaNika vigyAna rUpathva (<\/em>knowledge is transient, becomes new every second<em>)\u00a0 <\/em>(baudhdha philosophy)<em>, <\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8211; jatathva (<\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/06\/thathva-thrayam-chith-who-am-i\/\">AthmA<\/a> is unintelligent<em>)<\/em> (<em>nyAya <\/em>philosophy)<em>, <\/em>etc.,<\/p>\n<p>and,<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; thinking of <em>brahmam<\/em> as <em>mAyA SapaLithathva (<\/em>brahmam is covered by mAyA and has misunderstood about truth that the reflections of self from other things are actual <a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/06\/thathva-thrayam-chith-who-am-i\/\">AthmAs<\/a> (but they say that the things (reflected from) do not exist)) (by <em>mAyi (Sankara)<\/em> philosophy)<em>,<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8211; upAdhi miSrathva\u00a0<\/em>(items from which brahmam is reflected do exist) (bhAskara philosophy)<em>,<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8211; \u00a0vikArathva (<\/em>brahmam undergoes changes, and undergoes similar good\/bad feelings\/situations like <a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/06\/thathva-thrayam-chith-who-am-i\/\">chith <\/a>(changes behavior based on body taken) and <a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/09\/thathva-thrayam-achith-what-is-matter\/\">achith<\/a> (changes its form (for example from mud to a pot)) (<em>yAdhavaprakASa<\/em> philosophy)<em>, <\/em>etc.,<\/p>\n<p>and,<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; thinking that the world is <em>mithyAthva <\/em>(being untrue) (Sankara)<em>, avidhyA kAryathva <\/em>(are due to ignorance (of brahmam imagining that all that appears are existing), etc.,<\/p>\n<p>in these ways, the meanings are untrue, and against vEdhas;<\/p>\n<p>Or, (alternate meaning follows; please note the meaning in this part; a continuation of this alternate meaning is provided near the end for rest of the lines of pAsuram).<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>poyyaich churakkum poruLai\u00a0 &#8211; <\/em><\/strong>As said in \u2018<em>nAsathO vidhyathE bhAva: <\/em>[<a href=\"http:\/\/githa.koyil.org\/\">SrI bhagavath gIthA<\/a>]<em>\u2019<\/em> (any thing that is said as <em>sath<\/em> would not undergo change. (anything which is Not said as<em> sath<\/em> would not be unchanging)) , due to the cycle of getting created and destroyed, the body is considered false, due to the series of births that create feeling that body is <a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/06\/thathva-thrayam-chith-who-am-i\/\">AthmA<\/a>, and of feeling independent (from emperumAn), etc., &#8211; starting from such meanings;<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>poruLaith thuRandhu \u2013\u00a0<\/em><\/strong> drove away such untrue meanings; in <em>thirunArAyanpuram<\/em> (drove away those of other philosophies, with his form of thousand heads)<em>, <\/em>and in <em>sarasvathee baNdAram <\/em>(drove away those who debated and who tried to cast illness in him)<em>, <\/em>as said in \u2018<em>kOvA chakShur idhanjchayEabi purassOpadAra tharkkachchadA SasthrASasthri vihAra sampratharaNA svAdhEshu vAdhEshuka:\u2019 <\/em>(~ only <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a> can do debates in such ways)<em>, <\/em>like kAviri river flowing unbounded by the shores, with true overwhelming unstoppable arguments, argued in many ways with those who reject or misinterpret vEdhas and made them not rest, and not even open their eyes (to argue), and showed (the following proving ways):<\/p>\n<p>if body itself were <a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/06\/thathva-thrayam-chith-who-am-i\/\"><em>AthmA <\/em><\/a>then dead body would have to have intelligence, and,<\/p>\n<p>if <a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/06\/thathva-thrayam-chith-who-am-i\/\">AthmA<\/a> were <em>kshaNikam <\/em>(transient), then for happiness and sorrows that happened first, there would not have to be any thoughts\/memories about them in the next moment, and,<\/p>\n<p>if knowledge (<em>gyAnam<\/em>) itself were <a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/06\/thathva-thrayam-chith-who-am-i\/\">AthmA<\/a>, then it should stay as \u2018I am knowledge\u2019 and not as \u2018I have come to know\/learn\u2019 where it (correctly) thinks about being the \u2018bearer\u2019 of knowledge;<\/p>\n<p>if <a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/06\/thathva-thrayam-chith-who-am-i\/\">AthmA<\/a> were <em>jatam<\/em> (unintelligent), then as said in <em>\u2018Ethadh yOvEththitham prAhu: kShEthrajya ithi thath vidha:<\/em> [<a href=\"http:\/\/githa.koyil.org\/\">SrI bhagavath gIthA<\/a>]<em>\u2019 <\/em>\u00a0(considering your body as a land, grow plants (using <a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/06\/thathva-thrayam-chith-who-am-i\/\">AthmA<\/a>) that are good qualities like non-violence, etc.,)<em>, <\/em>\u00a0it should not say \u2018<em>pAdhE mE vEdhanA, Sirasi mE sukham<\/em>; (I am having pain in my foot, comfort in my head)\u2019,\u00a0 and \u00a0\u2018<em>vigyAna ghana:\u2019 <\/em>(wherever <a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/06\/thathva-thrayam-chith-who-am-i\/\">AthmA<\/a> is kept it would be having the weight of intelligence (like wherever salt is kept in mouth it would taste salty),\u00a0 thus <a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/06\/thathva-thrayam-chith-who-am-i\/\">AthmAs<\/a> are based on intelligence\/sentience; and,<\/p>\n<p>even if brahmam is <em>mAyASapalitham <\/em>(brahmam is covered by mAyA (imagination) and imagines\/confuses itself as being many)<em>, <\/em>as said in \u2018<em>nishkaLam nishkriyam Santham niravadhyam niranjchanam\u2019 <\/em>(there is no blemishes, not affected by deeds, all wishes are fulfilled, no drawbacks, etc. )<em>, <\/em>\u00a0since it is without impurity, and of joyous form, it should not get confused into thinking that I am <a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/06\/thathva-thrayam-chith-who-am-i\/\"><em>jeevan<\/em><\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/12\/thathva-thrayam-iswara-who-is-god\/\"><em>eeSvaran<\/em><\/a>; and if it so gets confused, then, as said in \u2018<em>EkO dhEvas sarva bUthEshu kUta:\u2019 <\/em>(there is only one god, there is that only one brahmam), for the one who is unique (there is nothing else), there would not be anyone to clear that confusion to brahmam, and so brahmam would have to stay with that confusion for ever; and,<\/p>\n<p>if brahmam is <em>vikAri <\/em>(undergoes changes), it would contradict with the Sruthi that says it is <em>nirvikAri; <\/em>and,<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a> told them in many such ways about contradictions (in their arguments\/assertions), instructed them, and made them lose, and since they cannot stay in this world in that way, drove them away into the sea;<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>indha bhUthalaththE\u00a0 meyyaip purakkum <\/em>\u2013 <\/strong>nurturing the true knowledge in this earth; <strong>\u00a0<\/strong>drove away the ones who argue without any basis (dry), and as said about authoritativeness of vEdhas about everything, in \u2018<em>pramANam vEdhAScha\u2019<\/em> (vEdhas are the authoritative reference ever)<em>,<\/em> and, \u2018<em>Adhau vEdhA: pramANam\u2019<\/em> (from old times vEdhas only are authoritative reference)<em>,<br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n<p>(Discussion below includes 12 of them for brahmam, 6 for <a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/06\/thathva-thrayam-chith-who-am-i\/\">AthmA<\/a>, and 3 for dhEham (body))<\/p>\n<p>~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~<\/p>\n<p>Since it is said \u2018<em>sathyam gyAnam anantham brahma\u2019<\/em> (there is no change in nature (no <em>svarUpa vikArathvam)<\/em>, is of intelligence <em>(no jadathvam)<\/em>,\u00a0 not limited (by time, place, or material (not having <em>thrividha parichchEdham<\/em>) \u2013 such is brahmam)<em>, <\/em>and,<\/p>\n<p>for saying \u2018<em>kapyAsam puNdareekam EvamakShiNee\u2019<\/em> (having eyes like blossomed beautiful lotus flower), since it is said \u2018<em>vishNO:padhE paramE madhva uthsa:\u2019<\/em> (from the divine feet of vishNu flows nectar (beauty))<em>, <\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\">emperumAn<\/a> is of \u2018<em>subhASraya dhivyA rUpam\u2019<\/em> (so brahmam does have divine body),<\/p>\n<p>and since it is said \u2018<em>parAsya Sakthir vividhaiva SrUyathE, svAbhAvikee gyAna bala kriyAcha\u2019<\/em> (brahmam is great; its power is great; uncontrolled independent one, having knowledge, strength, etc.)<em>, <\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\">emperumAn<\/a> is \u2018<em>samastha kalyANa guNAthmakan <\/em>(brahmam is having all auspicious qualities),\u00a0 and,<\/p>\n<p>since it is said \u2018<em>pAdha: asya vishvA bhUthAni, thripAdha syAmrutham dhivi\u2019<\/em> (one part is <em>leelA vibhUthi <\/em>(every place other than SrIvaikuNtam)<em>, <\/em>and three parts is <em>nithya vibhUthi <\/em>(SrIvaikuNtam)<em>,<\/em> so<em> \u00a0<\/em>He is <em>ubhaya vibhUthi nAthan<\/em> (He is the lord for both the worlds), and,<\/p>\n<p>since it is said \u2018<em>hreeSchathE lakshmeeScha pathnyau\u2019<\/em> (He is having wives SrIdhEvi, bhUmA dhEvi and neeLA dhEvi), He is <em>dhivya mahishI vallabhan <\/em>(He is the beloved husband of divine wives)<em>, <\/em>and,<\/p>\n<p>since it is said \u2018<em>yathra pUrvE sadhyAssanthi dhEvA:\u2019 <\/em>(dhEvas, that is, the nithyasUris perform services to Him), and, \u2018<em>yathra rushaya: prathama jAyE purANA:\u2019<\/em> (nithyasUris perform services to Him), and, \u2018<em>Ethath sAma gAyan nAsthE\u2019 <\/em>(~ they sing sAma vEdham (in SrIvaikuNtam)),\u00a0 <em>so <\/em>He is <em>sUribruntha paricharyamAnan<\/em> (He receives services from nithyasUris surrounding Him), and,<\/p>\n<p>since it is said \u2018<em>thadhaikShatha bahusyAm prajAyEyEthi\u2019 <\/em>(~ shall become (create) many forms of lives), and\u00a0 \u2018<em>thath srushtvA,\u00a0 thadhEvAnuprAviSath, thadhanupraviSya, sach chathyachchA bhavath\u2019<\/em> (~ <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\">emperumAn<\/a> being present inside every <a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/06\/thathva-thrayam-chith-who-am-i\/\">AthmA<\/a> gives existence to them), He is being <em>sUkShma chith achith viSishtan <\/em>(He being along with sentient and non-sentient that are in subtle forms (during total annihilation)), and is <em>jagath kAraNa bhUthan <\/em>(reason for creation of world)<em>, <\/em>and,<\/p>\n<p>since it is said \u2018<em>Esha sarva bhUthAntharAthmApahatha pApmA dhivyO dhEva EkO nArAyaNa:\u2019<\/em> (He who is inside every <a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/06\/thathva-thrayam-chith-who-am-i\/\">AthmA<\/a>, He is the lord of all dhEvas, He who does not have an equal, He is nArAyaNan), He is <em>sarva antharyAmi<\/em> (He is present in every <a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/06\/thathva-thrayam-chith-who-am-i\/\">AthmA<\/a>), and,<\/p>\n<p>since it is said \u2018<em>ambhasya pArE bhuvanasya madhyE nAgasya prushtE mahathO maheeyAn\u2019 <\/em>(He is on top of mountain, inside the sea, in the sky, in different forms), \u00a0He is <em>vyUha rupENa avasthithan <\/em>(being present in divided forms like sankarshaNa, et al. (in milky ocean))<em>, <\/em>and,<\/p>\n<p>since it is said \u2018<em>brahmaNyO dhEvakee puthrO brahmaNyO madhu sUdhanOm\u2019 <\/em>\u00a0(understand that brahmam is the son of dhEvaki, understand that brahmam is madhusUdhanan)<em>, <\/em>and, \u2018<em>ajAyamAnO bahudhA vijAyathE\u2019 <\/em>(He who is unborn, is born in innumerable incarnations), He is <em>anantha avathAra gandhan <\/em>(He is of innumerable incarnations), and,<\/p>\n<p>since it is said \u2018<em>sayaSyAyampurushE, yASchAsAvAdhithyE\u2019<\/em> (~In the middle of constellation of Sun is nArAyaNan)<em>, <\/em>and, \u2019<em>ya EshOntharAdhithyE hiraNmaya:purusha:\u2019<\/em> (~ He is present in the middle of constellation of Sun)<em>, <\/em>He is \u2018<em>samastha dhivya dhESa nilayan\u2019<\/em> (He is present in all the <a href=\"https:\/\/koyil.org\">divine temples<\/a>), and,<\/p>\n<p>since it is said \u2018<em>Om nArAyaNAya vidhmahE vAsudhEvAya dheemahi thannO vishNu: prachOdhayAth\u2019 <\/em>(~ <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\">emperumAn<\/a> having names of nArAyaNa, vAsudhEva, vishNu)<em>, <\/em>He is \u2018<em>vishNu nArAyaNa vAsudhEvAdhi Sabhdha vAchyan\u2019 <\/em>(<a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\">emperumAn<\/a> identified with names such as vishNu, nArAyaNa, and vAsudhEvan), and,<\/p>\n<p>since it is said \u2018<em>parAthparam purushamupaithi dhivyam\u2019 <\/em>He is \u2018<em>sarvasmAth paran\u2019, <\/em>and,<\/p>\n<p>(now, about <a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/06\/thathva-thrayam-chith-who-am-i\/\">jeevAthmas<\/a>)<\/p>\n<p>since it is said \u2018<em>EshO aNu: AthmA purusham upaithi dhivya:\u2019 <\/em>(AthmA is of minute form, and he reaches para brahamam)<em>, <\/em>and, \u2018<em>ArAkramAthrOhya varO pithrushta:\u2019, <\/em>He is being \u2018<em>prathyakAthma aNu\u2019 <\/em>(<a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/06\/thathva-thrayam-chith-who-am-i\/\">AthmA<\/a> which glows by itself (self-illuminous)), and,<\/p>\n<p>since it is said \u2018<em>nithyAnAm \u2013 chEthanAnAm\u2019<\/em>, He is being <em>\u2018nithyan\u2019<\/em> ((<a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/06\/thathva-thrayam-chith-who-am-i\/\">AthmA<\/a> is) eternal), and,<\/p>\n<p>since it is said \u2018<em>bhOkthA bhOgyam prErithArancha mathvA\u2019\u00b8 <\/em>He is \u2018<em>bhOkthA\u2019<\/em> (<a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/06\/thathva-thrayam-chith-who-am-i\/\">AthmA<\/a> is one who enjoys (the things), and,<\/p>\n<p>since it is said \u2018<em>pruthak AthmAnam prErithAramcha mathva:\u2019 <\/em>(understand about <a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/06\/thathva-thrayam-chith-who-am-i\/\">jeevAthmA<\/a> as different from sarvESvaran who instigates) <a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/06\/thathva-thrayam-chith-who-am-i\/\">AthmA<\/a> is being different from SarvESvaran, and,<\/p>\n<p>since it is said \u2018<em>thayOranya:pippalam svAdhvaththi\u2019,<\/em> (<a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/06\/thathva-thrayam-chith-who-am-i\/\">AthmA<\/a> is born to experience the fruits of his deeds) is \u2018<em>karma pala bhOkthA\u2019 <\/em>(experiences the effects of his deeds), and,<\/p>\n<p>since it is said \u2018<em>brahmaNEthvAmahasa OmithyAthmAnam yunjeetha\u2019 <\/em>(<a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/06\/thathva-thrayam-chith-who-am-i\/\">jeevAthmA<\/a> shall say Om and worship brahmam (implies He is the lord and we are His servants))<em>, <\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/06\/thathva-thrayam-chith-who-am-i\/\">AthmA<\/a> is <em>\u2018bhagavath ananyArha sEsha bhUthan\u2019<\/em> (<a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/06\/thathva-thrayam-chith-who-am-i\/\">AthmA<\/a> is a servant who worships only the <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\">emperumAn<\/a>), and,<\/p>\n<p>since it is said \u2018<em>thamEvam vidhvAn amrutha iha bhavathi\u2019<\/em> ((such <a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/06\/thathva-thrayam-chith-who-am-i\/\">AthmA<\/a>) would attain liberation in this birth and there is no need to search for any other path for libearation)<em>, <\/em>based on the aforementioned state (of being subservient to <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\">emperumAn<\/a> only), using that knowledge <a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/06\/thathva-thrayam-chith-who-am-i\/\">AthmA<\/a> shall get the liberation to ultimate destiny (service to <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\">emperumAn<\/a>), and,<\/p>\n<p>(now about non-sentient)<\/p>\n<p>since it is said \u2018<em>samAnam vrukSham parishasvajAthE\u2019 <\/em>(~ bird in a tree playing happily (non-sentient is for <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\">emperumAn<\/a> to play)<em>,<\/em>\u00a0 for <a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/06\/thathva-thrayam-chith-who-am-i\/\">eeSvaran<\/a>, <em><a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/09\/thathva-thrayam-achith-what-is-matter\/\">achith<\/a> (<\/em>non-sentient) also is <em>kreedA parikaram<\/em> (tool for <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\">emperumAn<\/a> to enjoy),\u00a0 and<\/p>\n<p>since it is said \u2018<em>AkASath vAyu:, vAyOragni:, agnErApa:, adhbhya:pruthivee\u2019 <\/em>(from ether came air, from air came fire, from fire came water<em>,<\/em> from water came land) \u00a0\u00a0it would be as \u2018<em>chathurvimSathi thathvAthmakam\u2019<\/em> (non-sentient is twenty four thathvams (realities\/forms)), and<\/p>\n<p>since it is said \u2018<em>mruththikEthyEva sathyam\u2019 <\/em>(pot, and such similar items imply truth\/existence of sand), it would be \u2018<em>thuchcha vyAvruththam\u2019<\/em> (non-sentient (<a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/09\/thathva-thrayam-achith-what-is-matter\/\"><em>achith<\/em><\/a>) different from insignificant), and,<\/p>\n<p>~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~<\/p>\n<p>in these ways <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a> advised about the true character and innate nature of <a href=\"http:\/\/ponnadi.blogspot.com\/p\/thathva-thrayam.html\"><em>thathva thrayam <\/em><\/a>(<a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/06\/thathva-thrayam-chith-who-am-i\/\">chith<\/a> (sentient), <a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/09\/thathva-thrayam-achith-what-is-matter\/\">achith<\/a> (non-sentient), and eeSvaran (<a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\">emperumAn<\/a>), in this world which is of ignorance, and thus <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a> so helped;<\/p>\n<p>Or,<\/p>\n<p>to continue with the alternate meaning mentioned earlier, the meaning for <em>\u2018<strong>poruLaith thurandhu indha bhUthalaththE meyyaip purakkum\u2019<\/strong><\/em> shall be <strong>\u2013 <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a> drove away one\u2019s feeling of independence (from <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\">emperumAn<\/a>), etc., using his advice, and in this world, he saved the <a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/06\/thathva-thrayam-chith-who-am-i\/\">AthmA<\/a> who is <em>sadhaika rUpa rUpan, <\/em>and <em>sathya Sabhdha vAchyan (<\/em>identified by the word Truth<em>).<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>irAmAnusan niRka \u2013 <\/em><\/strong>even though there is <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a> present as <em>vEdha mArgga prathishtApanAchArya ubhaya vEdhAnthAchAryar,<\/em> who is looking out to see if there is any one who could be reformed, and is \u2018<em>edhir sUzhal pukku\u2019<\/em>, waiting for some to show up in his sight,<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>vERu nammai uyyak kOLLa valla dheivam \u2013 <\/em><\/strong>As \u2018<em>anAdhi pApa vAsanA dhUshita aSEsha sEmusheekar\u2019 <\/em>(having ignorant knowledge based on scent of eternal bad deeds)<em>, <\/em>due to having the thought that <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a> is one like us (human), and not agreeing to his advice,\u00a0 they look somewhere else looking for \u2018some other god who can save us\u2019,<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>ingi yAdhu enRu ularndhu \u2013 <\/em><\/strong>\u2018who is such god\u2019 \u2013 and so kept searching, and flounder, and not finding such god (because such is not present elsewhere), become dry and suffer, and,<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>avamE aiyyappadA niRpar \u2013 <\/em><\/strong>even if told that you who have not considered that this matter (<a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a>) has to be accepted, you do not have the intellect to take that and survive, and so you do not have any other way to survive \u2013 so uselessly they stood having doubts of whether there is any one for them to save them;<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>vaiyaththu uLLOr nal aRivu izhandhE &#8211; <\/em><\/strong>\u00a0the sentient in this earth, have lost the most pure knowledge,\u00a0 and so our advice also ended without use; they got ruined as said in \u2018<em>samSayAthmA vinaSyathi\u2019<\/em> (one always having doubts will be ruined)<em>, <\/em>Oh!, and so since amudhnAr is a well-wisher of everyone, he is feeling sad for them, you see.<\/p>\n<p><strong>From AzhwAr thirunagari SrI u.vE. vidhwAn thirumalai nallAn chakravarththi rAmakrishNa iyengAr\u2019s \u2018<em>amudha virundhu<\/em>\u2019 :<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In the alternative meaning, as additional continuation of driving away <em>dhEhAthmAbhimAnam<\/em> (thiking that body itself is <a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/06\/thathva-thrayam-chith-who-am-i\/\">AthmA<\/a> (and so fully nurturing the body only), and <em>svasvAthanthriyam<\/em> (thinking of self as independent from <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\">emperumAn<\/a>), etc., \u2018<strong><em>meyyaip purakkum\u2019<\/em>\u00a0 <\/strong>would be about \u2018saving us to be according to the true nature of <a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/06\/thathva-thrayam-chith-who-am-i\/\">AthmA<\/a>\u2019;<\/p>\n<p>Body is considered \u2018<em>poy\u2019 <\/em>(false), because it keeps changing from birth and becomes ash upon death; <strong>dhEhAthmAbhinam and svasvAthanthriyam keep creating such bodies over a cycle of births;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As opposed to this, <a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/06\/thathva-thrayam-chith-who-am-i\/\">AthmA<\/a> is eternal and does not change, and so is \u2018<em>mey\u2019 <\/em>(true) since it appears same ever.<\/p>\n<p>Oh the people of earth not knowing the path are suffering unnecessarily by not listening to the advice of <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a> which can remove our <em>dhEhAthmAbhimAnam<\/em> and <em>svAthanthriyam<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Since they search for some god, it is clear that they Do wish to get saved; but considering <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a> as just one among them, they are losing, even though they have got the <em>ruchi <\/em>(interest).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a> who can give proper knowledge is waiting; and there is no dearth of wanting (from the people); but without surrendering to <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a> they are losing out such an opportunity \u2013 so <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/03\/26\/thiruvarangathu-amudhanar\/\">amudhanAr<\/a> feels sad.<\/p>\n<p>nammAzhvAr said \u2018<em>Adhip pirAn niRka maRRAith theivam nAdudhirE<\/em> [<a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/index.php\/2016\/11\/thiruvaimozhi-4th-centum\/\">thiruvAimozhi \u2013 4.<\/a>10.1]\u2019, and <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/03\/26\/thiruvarangathu-amudhanar\/\">amudhanAr<\/a>\u00a0 says \u2018<strong><em>irAmAnusan niRka vERu nammai uyakkoLLa valla dheivam ingi yAdhu enRu ularndhu<\/em><\/strong><em>\u2019 :<\/em><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/18\/nammazhwar-english\/\">nammAzhvAr<\/a> says He who gives this body is
