As said in SrIvishNu purANam 1.15.157 &#8220;<em>upamAnamaSEshANAm sAdhUnAm yassadhA&#8217;bhavath |<\/em>&#8221; (How prahladha has become the example of all good people), for those who are interested in kainkaryam, it is thiruvananthAzhwAn&#8217;s activities which are best examples. ALavandhAr explains ultimate state of such AdhiSEshan.<\/p>\n<p><em>nivAsaSayyAsanapAdhukASuka<\/em><br \/>\n<em>upadhAnavarshAthapavAraNAdhibhi: |<\/em><br \/>\n<em>SarIrabhEdhais thava SEshathAm gathair<\/em><br \/>\n<em>yathOchitham SEsha ithIrithE janai: ||<\/em><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left;\">Word by word meaning<\/h3>\n<p>nivAsa SayyA Asana pAdhukA amSuka upadhAna varshAthapa vAraNa Adhibhi: &#8211; [AdhiSEsha] being the palace where <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\">emperumAn<\/a> resides, being the bed where he rests, being the throne [where he sits], being the sandals [which he wears], being the garments [which he wears], being the pillow [which he embraces], being the umbrella which protects him from rain and shine, and assuming many other forms [for his service]<br \/>\nyathOchitham &#8211; as suitable for each situation<br \/>\nthava SEshathAm gathai: &#8211; in service for you<br \/>\nSarIra bhEdhai: &#8211; in many forms<br \/>\nSEsha: ithi janai: IrithE &#8211; being called by everyone as &#8220;SEsha&#8221;<br \/>\nanantha bhOgini &#8211; on the divine form of thiruvananthAzhwAn<br \/>\nAsInam &#8211; divinely resting<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left;\">Simple Translation<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\">emperumAn<\/a> is divinely resting\u00a0 on the divine form of thiruvananthAzhwAn who is being the palace where emperumAn resides, being the bed where he rests, being the throne [where he sits], being the sandals [which he wears], being the garments [which he wears], being the pillow [which he embraces], being the umbrella which protects him from rain and shine, and assuming many other forms [for his service] in service for you and hence [thiruvananthAzhwAn] is being called by everyone as &#8220;SEsha&#8221; &#8230;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left;\">vyAkyAnam (Commentary)<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><em>nivAsa<\/em> &#8211; He is said to be the palace where <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\">emperumAn<\/a> is mercifully residing.<\/li>\n<li><em>SayyA <\/em>&#8211; the bed where he rests\/sleeps.<\/li>\n<li><em>Asana<\/em> &#8211; mudhal thiruvanthAdhi 53 &#8220;<em>irundhAl singAsanamAm<\/em>&#8221; (the throne when he sits)<\/li>\n<li><em>pAdhukA<\/em> &#8211; mudhal thiruvanthAdhi 53 &#8220;<em>ninRAl mara adiyAm<\/em>&#8221; (the wooden sandals, when he stands)<\/li>\n<li><em>amSuka<\/em> &#8211; garment which conveys emperumAn&#8217;s masculinity<\/li>\n<li><em>upadhAna<\/em> &#8211; mudhal thiruvanthAdhi 53 &#8220;<em>pulgum aNaiyAm<\/em>&#8221; (the pillow which he embraces)<\/li>\n<li><em>varshAthapavAraNa Adhibhi:<\/em> &#8211; as said in mudhal thiruvanthAdhi 53 &#8220;<em>senRAl kudaiyAm<\/em>&#8221; (umbrella when he walks), umbrella to protect him from rain and shine. With the word &#8220;<em>Adhi<\/em>&#8220;, it is explained that there is no end to his forms due to his great attachment to serve <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\">emperumAn<\/a>.
