href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/?p=1335\">7th pAsuram<\/a>)<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/18\/nammazhwar-english\/\">nammAzhwAr<\/a>&#8216;s compassion being greater than <a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/12\/thathva-thrayam-iswara-who-is-god\/\">bhagavAn<\/a>&#8216;s compassion (<a title=\"kaNNinuN chiRuth thAmbu 8 \u2013 aruL koNdAdum\" href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/?p=1337\">8th pAsuram<\/a>) and finally<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/18\/nammazhwar-english\/\">nammAzhwAr<\/a> doing great favours out of such compassion (<a title=\"kaNNinuN chiRuth thAmbu 9 \u2013 mikka vEdhiyar\" href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/?p=1339\">9th pAsuram<\/a>)<\/li>\n<li>him feeling agonized for him being unable to do anything in return to <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/18\/nammazhwar-english\/\">nammAzhwAr<\/a> for his great favours (<a title=\"kaNNinuN chiRuth thAmbu 10 \u2013 payan anRAgilum\" href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/?p=1341\">10th pAsuram<\/a>).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In this pAsuram, <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/01\/17\/madhurakavi-azhwar\/\">madhurakavi AzhwAr<\/a> declares that those who learn and recite this prabandham will be favoured by nithyasUris in paramapadham. Though such devotees (of <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/18\/nammazhwar-english\/\">nammAzhwAr<\/a>) are only desiring to be in <a href=\"http:\/\/azhwarthirunagari.koyil.org\">AzhwArthirunagari<\/a>, to fulfill the desires of nithyasUris, they would go to paramapadham and will enjoy <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/18\/nammazhwar-english\/\">nammAzhwAr<\/a> there too.<\/p>\n<p>\u0b85\u0ba9\u0bcd\u0baa\u0ba9\u0bcd \u0ba4\u0ba9\u0bcd\u0ba9\u0bc8 \u0b85\u0b9f\u0bc8\u0ba8\u0bcd\u0ba4\u0bb5\u0bb0\u0bcd\u0b95\u0b9f\u0bcd\u0b95\u0bc6\u0bb2\u0bcd\u0bb2\u0bbe\u0bae\u0bcd \u0b85\u0ba9\u0bcd\u0baa\u0ba9\u0bcd<br \/>\n\u0ba4\u0bc6\u0ba9\u0bcd\u0b95\u0bc1\u0bb0\u0bc1\u0b95\u0bc2\u0bb0\u0bcd \u0ba8\u0b95\u0bb0\u0bcd \u0ba8\u0bae\u0bcd\u0baa\u0bbf\u0b95\u0bcd\u0b95\u0bc1 \u0b85\u0ba9\u0bcd\u0baa\u0ba9\u0bbe\u0baf\u0bcd<br \/>\n\u0bae\u0ba4\u0bc1\u0bb0\u0b95\u0bb5\u0bbf \u0b9a\u0bca\u0ba9\u0bcd\u0ba9 \u0b9a\u0bca\u0bb2\u0bcd \u0ba8\u0bae\u0bcd\u0baa\u0bc1\u0bb5\u0bb0\u0bcd \u0baa\u0ba4\u0bbf<br \/>\n\u0bb5\u0bc8\u0b95\u0bc1\u0ba8\u0bcd\u0ba4\u0bae\u0bcd \u0b95\u0bbe\u0ba3\u0bcd\u0bae\u0bbf\u0ba9\u0bc7<\/p>\n<p><em>anban thannai adainthavarkatkellAm anban<\/em><br \/>\n<em>thenkurukUr nagar nambikku<\/em> <em>anbanAy <\/em><br \/>\n<em>madhurakavi sonna sol nambuvAr pathi<\/em><br \/>\n<em>vaikuntham kANminE<br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>word-by-word meanings<\/strong><br \/>\nanban thannai &#8211; that <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\">emperumAn<\/a> who is Asritha pakshapAthi (who is partial towards his devotees)<br \/>\nadainthavarkatku ellAm &#8211; to all bhAgavathas who surrendered unto him (<a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/12\/thathva-thrayam-iswara-who-is-god\/\">bhagavAn<\/a>)<br \/>\nanban &#8211; one who is devoted<br \/>\nthenkurukUr nagar nambikku &#8211; to <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/18\/nammazhwar-english\/\">nammAzhwAr<\/a> (who is the leader of beautiful <a href=\"http:\/\/azhwarthirunagari.koyil.org\">AzhwArthirunagari<\/a>)<br \/>\nanban Ay &#8211; being devoted to<br \/>\nmadhurakavi sonna sol &#8211; this dhivya prabandham which is spoken by <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/01\/17\/madhurakavi-azhwar\/\">madhurakavi AzhwAr<\/a><br \/>\nnambuvAr &#8211; one who is faithful (that this is their refuge)<br \/>\npathi &#8211; residing place<br \/>\nvaikuntham kANmin &#8211; (see it to be) paramapadham<\/p>\n<p><strong>Simple translation:<\/strong><br \/>\nsrIvaikuNtam (paramapadham) will be the residing place for the ones who firmly believe in this dhivya prabandham that is spoken with devotion by\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/01\/17\/madhurakavi-azhwar\/\">madhurakavi AzhwAr<\/a> (me) towards <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/18\/nammazhwar-english\/\">nammAzhwAr<\/a> who is devoted to all bhAgavathas who are dear to <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\">emperumAn<\/a> who is partial towards his devotees.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Highlights from <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/14\/nanjiyar-english\/\">nanjIyar<\/a>&#8216;s vyAkyAnam:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>anban thannai&#8230;<\/em> &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\">emperumAn<\/a> is affectionate towards everyone. As explained in srIrAmAyaNam yudhdha kANdam 30.56 &#8220;<em>ripUNam api vathsala:<\/em>&#8221; (srI rAma shows his motherly forbearance even towards one who considers him as his enemy). This is the true nature of <a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/12\/thathva-thrayam-iswara-who-is-god\/\">Iswara\/bhagavAn<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li><em>thannai adainthavar&#8230;<\/em> &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/18\/nammazhwar-english\/\">nammAzhwAr<\/a> is affectionate towards everyone who is surrendered to such <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\">emperumAn<\/a>. This is <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/18\/nammazhwar-english\/\">nammAzhwAr<\/a>&#8216;s true nature. It is natural for everyone to be friendly with like minded persons.<\/li>\n<li><em>thenkurukUr&#8230;<\/em> &#8211; It is the true nature of srI\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/01\/17\/madhurakavi-azhwar\/\">madhurakavi AzhwAr<\/a> to be affectionate towards <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/18\/nammazhwar-english\/\">nammAzhwAr<\/a>. This is said by\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/01\/17\/madhurakavi-azhwar\/\">madhurakavi AzhwAr<\/a> after being induced by loving devotion towards him.<\/li>\n<li><em>nambuvAr&#8230;<\/em> &#8211; For those who learn this prabandham, srIvaikuNtam will be their abode. This sounds contradictory. When <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/18\/nammazhwar-english\/\">nammAzhwAr<\/a> is explained as the goal, should he not declare that\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/azhwarthirunagari.koyil.org\">AzhwArthirunagari<\/a> is their abode? <a href=\"http:\/\/azhwarthirunagari.koyil.org\">AzhwArthirunagari<\/a> is under the control of polindhu ninRa pirAn and <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/18\/nammazhwar-english\/\">nammAzhwAr<\/a> (Even the dhEvasthAnam is known as AdhinAthar AzhwAr dhEvasthAnam). But paramapadham is explained as the abode that is fully under the control of <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/18\/nammazhwar-english\/\">nammAzhwAr<\/a> as in thiruviruththam 75 as &#8220;<em>adiyAr nilAginRa vaikunthamO?<\/em>&#8221; (Is this srIvaikuNtam the land that is fully controlled by the devotees? &#8211; as per vyAkyAnam).<\/li>\n<li>Another explanation. The place where those who learned this prabandham reside, that becomes srIvaikuNtam. nambi thiruvazhudhi vaLaNAdu dhAsar explains that after the birth of <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/11\/parasara-bhattar\/\">parAsara bhattar<\/a> as the son of <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/10\/05\/kurathazhwan\/\">kUraththAzhwAn<\/a> there is no barrier between samsAram and paramapadham since he destroyed the barrier and made them all a single abode.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Thus ends <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/14\/nanjiyar-english\/\">nanjIyar<\/a>&#8216;s vyAkyAnam. <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/14\/nanjiyar-english\/\">nanjIyar<\/a> thiruvadigaLE charaNam.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Highlights from <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/16\/nampillai-english\/\">nampiLLai<\/a>&#8216;s eedu vyAkyAnam:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>anban<\/em> &#8211; (without any other special qualifications\/requirements) &#8211; he is naturally vathsalan (one who has vAthsalyam &#8211; motherly forbearance). His motherly forbearance is towards everyone irrespective of their attitude as explained in srIrAmAyaNam &#8220;<em>ripUNam api vathsala:<\/em>&#8220;. That is due to his eternal sambandham (relationship) with every one as explained in jithanthE sthOthram 2 &#8220;<em>dhEvAnam dhAnavAnAm cha sAmAnyam adhi dhaivatham<\/em>&#8221; (You are the common refuge to both dhEvas who are devoted to you and asuras who are against you).<\/li>\n<li><em>thannai adainthavarkatku ellAm anban<\/em> &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/18\/nammazhwar-english\/\">nammAzhwAr<\/a>&#8216;s affection is not common like <a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/12\/thathva-thrayam-iswara-who-is-god\/\">bhagavAn<\/a>&#8216;s. His affection is specifically towards devotees as he himself says in thiruvaimozhi 3.7.1 &#8220;<em>paramanaip payilum thiruvudaiyAr yavarElum avar kaNdIr\u00a0 emmaiyALum paramar<\/em>&#8221; (Whoever has the wealth of devotion towards the supreme lord, they are my supreme lords).<\/li>\n<li><em>thenkurukUr nagar nambikku anbanAy<\/em> &#8211; Not just stopping with <a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/12\/thathva-thrayam-iswara-who-is-god\/\">bhagavAn<\/a>, not just stopping with all his devotees but being affectionate to his own AchArya (<a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/18\/nammazhwar-english\/\">nammAzhwAr<\/a>). When there is personal expectation towards a goal, one will approach\/serve <a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/12\/thathva-thrayam-iswara-who-is-god\/\">bhagavAn<\/a>. When there is desire to fulfill <a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/12\/thathva-thrayam-iswara-who-is-god\/\">bhagavAn<\/a>&#8216;s expectation (only), one\u00a0 will approach\/serve bhAgavathas. But when one desires to fulfill both <a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/12\/thathva-thrayam-iswara-who-is-god\/\">bhagavAn<\/a> and bhAgavathas&#8217; expectations, one serves AchArya.\u00a0 AchArya is the goal since he is the one who reveals knowledge that is not known before. Subsequently, since he engages oneself in discussing about <a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/12\/thathva-thrayam-iswara-who-is-god\/\">bhagavAn<\/a> all the time and being a good companion in this world, he is the goal at that time. To attain ultimate goal of reaching <a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/12\/thathva-thrayam-iswara-who-is-god\/\">bhagavAn<\/a>, he is the purushakAra bhUthan (recommendation authority) &#8211; so he is the goal at that time. He is explained as &#8220;<em>sarvalOkaika vathsala:<\/em>&#8221; (he is affectionate towards everyone in the universe), srIrAmAyaNam sundhara kANdam 21.20 &#8220;<em>saraNagatha vathsala:<\/em>&#8221; (one who is affectionate towards the ones who surrender unto him), srIrAmAyaNam yudhdha kANdam 30.56 &#8220;<em>ripUNam api vathsala:<\/em>&#8221; (srI rAma shows his motherly forbearance even towards one who considers him as his enemy). But more specifically, towards his devotees he even accepts their defects happily as mentioned in srIrAmAyaNam yudhdha kANdam 18.3 &#8220;<em>&#8230;dhOshO yathyapi&#8230;<\/em>&#8221; (I will never give up vibhIshaNa who approached me with friendly attitude even if he has defects. For good persons, such acceptance is not to be condemned). Even those who engage in unfavourable acts are cared with motherly forbearance by <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\">emperumAn<\/a> as mentioned in sthOthra rathnam 63 &#8220;<em>&#8230;prathibhavam aparAdhdhUr mugdha sAyujyadhObhU:&#8230;<\/em>&#8221; (Even sisupAla who committed many offenses was pardoned by you and was given mOksham by you).<\/li>\n<li>Among all qualities of <a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/12\/thathva-thrayam-iswara-who-is-god\/\">bhagavAn<\/a>, this vAthsalyam (motherly forbearance) is the most glorified. It is because of this vAthsalyam, <a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/12\/thathva-thrayam-iswara-who-is-god\/\">bhagavAn<\/a> is glorified as supreme (since this quality in its truest sense cannot be seen in anyone else). And it is because of this quality, <a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/12\/thathva-thrayam-iswara-who-is-god\/\">bhagavAn<\/a> is approachable by everyone and is being the refuge for everyone.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/01\/17\/madhurakavi-azhwar\/\">madhurakavi AzhwAr<\/a> started with &#8220;<em>kaNNinuN chiRuth thAmbinAl kattuNNappaNNiya perumAyan ennappan<\/em>&#8221; in the first pAsuram explaining <a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/12\/thathva-thrayam-iswara-who-is-god\/\">bhagavAn<\/a>&#8216;s qualities such as sausIlyam (easily mixing with everyone), saulabhyam (easily approachable), svAmithvam (supremacy), etc. And in the end, he completes with vAthsalyam separately since this quality is more special than any other qualities of <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\">emperumAn<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li><em>anban thannai adainthavarkatku ellAm anban<\/em> &#8211; starting to explain about <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/18\/nammazhwar-english\/\">nammAzhwAr<\/a>. Unlike <a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/12\/thathva-thrayam-iswara-who-is-god\/\">bhagavAn<\/a> who is affectionate towards everyone due to his natural relationship with everyone, <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/18\/nammazhwar-english\/\">nammAzhwAr<\/a> is affectionate towards everyone who is devoted to <a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/12\/thathva-thrayam-iswara-who-is-god\/\">bhagavAn<\/a>. Irrespective of such devotees&#8217; birth, etc., <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/18\/nammazhwar-english\/\">nammAzhwAr<\/a> is affectionate towards them. He himself says in thiruvAimozhi 3.7.8 &#8220;<em>kumbi narakargaL EththuvarElum &#8230; em thozhu kulam thAngaL<\/em>&#8221; (Even if one who lives in kumbI narakam glorified <a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/12\/thathva-thrayam-iswara-who-is-god\/\">bhagavAn<\/a>, those are considered as my masters) and in thiruvAimozhi 3.7.9 &#8220;<em>eththanai nalam thAn ilAtha chandALa chaNdALargaLAgilum,\u00a0 maNivaNNARkALenRu uL kalanthAradiyAr tham adiyAr em adigaL<\/em>&#8221; (Even though one is the lowest of a chaNdALa (dog-eater) with no good qualities, if he is fully surrendered to <a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/12\/thathva-thrayam-iswara-who-is-god\/\">bhagavAn<\/a>, such chaNdALa&#8217;s devotees are my masters).<\/li>\n<li><em>anban<\/em> &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/18\/nammazhwar-english\/\">nammAzhwAr<\/a> will even give up bhagavath anubhavam to be with bhAgavathas.
