previous (kaiththanan theeya)<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Introduction (given by <\/strong><a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/mamunigal\/\"><strong>maNavALa mAmunigaL<\/strong><\/a><strong>)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>When those who saw <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/03\/26\/thiruvarangathu-amudhanar\/\">amudhanAr<\/a> becoming happy in these ways and ask \u2013 since you (now) possess intellect and love that help reach goal, can you not sustain by yourself? &#8211;\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/03\/26\/thiruvarangathu-amudhanar\/\">amudhanAr<\/a> replies \u2013 Due to his qualities of generosity etc., he is the protector of all people in this world, and he advised about the true knowledge \u2013 there is no sustenance for me other than the destiny of remembrance of <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Introduction (given by <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/04\/08\/pillai-lokam-jiyar\/\"><strong>piLLailOkam jIyar<\/strong><\/a><strong>)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In the previous pAsuram \u2013 as <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/03\/26\/thiruvarangathu-amudhanar\/\">amudhanAr<\/a> becomes happy about how <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a> due to his generosity placed him among the group of devotees, people near there asked \u2013 since you have got intellect and love towards them, can you not get liberated based on that? \u2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/03\/26\/thiruvarangathu-amudhanar\/\">amudhanAr<\/a> replies \u2013 due to his generosity, and extreme kindness related to that, and with his calmness that helps in not getting angry when caring for all the people, he himself is the protector for one and all in this earth,\u00a0 he advised true and distinguished knowledge \u2013 it is the reflecting of the fact that <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a> is the protector that would get me liberated, and my intellect and love would not play a role in it.<\/p>\n<p><em>vaNmaiyinAlum than mA thagavAlum madhi puraiyum<\/em><br \/>\n<em>thaNmaiyinAlum ith thAraNiyOrkatku thAn charaNAy<\/em><br \/>\n<em>uNmai nan gyAnam uraiththa irAmAnusanai unnum<\/em><br \/>\n<em>thiNmai allAl enakkillai maRROr nilai thErndhidilE \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0&#8211; his generosity\u00a0 which made everyone one to drink and worship SrI pAdha theertham and divine feet (respectively) by establishing in SALagrAmam, and giving away to every one the most secret\/sacred meanings of charama SlOkam (respectively); as said in \u2018<em>thathvEnaya: chith \u00a0achith eeSvara thath svabhAva bhOgApavargga thadhupAya gathIr udhAra:\u2019<\/em> (explained <a href=\"http:\/\/ponnadi.blogspot.com\/p\/thathva-thrayam.html\">thathva thrayam<\/a> (<a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/06\/thathva-thrayam-chith-who-am-i\/\">sentient<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/ponnadi.blogspot.in\/2013\/03\/thathva-thrayam-achith-what-is-matter.html\">non-sentient<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\">emperumAn<\/a>), and about what is to be reached, how to reach it, what is experienced after reaching it, what is its nature, place, etc.)<em>, <\/em>he authored SrI bhAshyam and other granthams and helped in every way;<\/p>\n<p>by such generosity of his,<\/p>\n<p>What instigated such generosity? \u00a0(it is his utmost kindness: )<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>than mA thagavAlum \u2013 <\/em><\/strong>As said in \u2018<em>Evam samsruthi chakrasthE brAmyamANEsva karmabhi: &#8211; <em>\u00a0\u00a0<strong>thaNmai \u2013 <\/strong><\/em>pleasant\/cool.\u00a0 <strong><em>purai &#8211; <\/em><\/strong>\u00a0greatness.<\/p>\n<p>As said in \u2018<em>hari: dhu:kAni bhakthEbhya: hitha bhudhyA karOthisa: <\/em>(<a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\">emperumAn<\/a> gives sadness to His devotees, to get them in correct path (unlike that <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a> does not even give such sadness for correcting us); <em>,<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8211; SasthrakShArAgni karmANi sva puthrAya yathA pithA\u2019<\/em> (like father takes the stick to his son for correcting him (<a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\">emperumAn<\/a> also does the same) &#8211; <em>\u00a0<\/em>not doing just the good,\u00a0 like how one would drink milk for disease of bile, <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a> in all the ways is having\u00a0 cold\/pleasant state that is pleasant for everyone.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>ith thAraNiyOrkatkuth thAn charaNAy \u2013 <\/em><\/strong>in these ways of qualities, what is said in \u2018<em>gurur mAthA\u2019 <\/em>(AchAryan is the mother)<em>, <\/em>and in, <em>\u2018upAya upEya bhAvEna thamEva SaraNam vrajEth\u2019<\/em> (One shall hold on to AchAryan\u2019s divine feet as means and destiny)<em>, &#8211; <\/em>by the saying of \u2018<em>svAbhimAnaththAlE eeSvarAbhimAnaththaik kulaiththuk koNda ivanukku AchArya abhimAnam ozhiya gathi illai <\/em>[SrI vachana bhUshaNam]\u2019 (due to his thinking of himself as great\/ independent, he lost the hold of <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\">emperumAn<\/a>, for such a person there is no refuge than the love of AchAryan) \u2013 (and so) <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a> is grantor of liberation;<\/p>\n<p>It is said too, \u2018<em>sa Eva sarva lOkAnAm udhdharththAnAthra samSaya:\u2019 <\/em>(the one who can lift everyone up from this material world (is <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a> only) (said <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/10\/05\/kurathazhwan\/\">kUraththAzhvAn<\/a>))<em>, <\/em>and, \u2018<em>thasmin rAmAnujAryE gururithicha padham bhAdhi nA anyathra thasmAth Sishta SrImath gurUNAm kulam idham akilam thasya nAthasya Sesha:\u2019<\/em> (the word guru fits only <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a>; it does not fit that well for others;<em> so<\/em>, all the clan of devotees are those who have surrendered to <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a>);<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>uNmai nal gyAnam uraiththa \u2013 \u00a0<\/em><\/strong>correcting advise about the most noble\/required\/deep knowledge in the form of real truth, and means (His divine feet), and destiny (service for His happiness);\u00a0 it is said too, \u2018<em>bhajEth sArathamam SAsthram rathnAkara ivAmrutham\u00a0 &#8211; sarvathas sAramAdhathyAth pushpEbhya iva shad padha:\u2019 <\/em>(<a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\">emperumAn<\/a> ignored lowly items and got the most noble nectar from the ocean.\u00a0 Bee would take only honey from flower, <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a> gave us only the most important aspects)<em>.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>irAmAnusanai unnum thiNmai allAl \u2013 <\/em><\/strong>other than the benefit\/destiny of being with well determined state that it is only <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a> who is the protector.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>maRROr nilai thErndhidil . enakku illai \u2013<\/em><\/strong> If we think about this very well, my knowledge and love, etc., are not there for me even a little (for getting to that state).<\/p>\n<p>I who do not possess anything to get benefits, and who does not have any other saviour, my knowledge and love would not sustain me \u2013 and thus <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/03\/26\/thiruvarangathu-amudhanar\/\">amudhanAr<\/a> divines about his utmost dedication (to <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p><strong>From AzhwAr thirunagari SrI u.vE. vidhwAn thirumalai nallAn chakravarththi rAmakrishNa iyengAr\u2019s \u2018<em>amudha virundhu<\/em>\u2019 :<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>vaNmaiyinAlum \u2013 <\/em><\/strong>add the \u2018<em>than\u2019<\/em> to all the three words, that is \u2018<em>than vaNmaiyinAlum\u2019, \u2018than mAthagavAlum\u2019, \u2018than madhi puraiyum thaNmaiynAlum\u2019.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>vaNmai \u2013 <\/em><\/strong>giving the advise without withholding due to the greatness of its meanings \u2013 such generosity.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\">emperumAn<\/a> helped with vEdham and <a href=\"http:\/\/githa.koyil.org\/\">SrI bhagavath gIthA<\/a> which talk about not so most important\/sacred meanings also, whereas <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a>\u2019s helps with the advice that contains only the most important\/sacred meanings.<\/p>\n<p>So his generosity is unique.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>madhi puraiyum thNmai &#8211; <\/em><\/strong>\u00a0By advising about true knowledge he relieve people of their heat (from material world), and makes them understand about <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\">emperumAn<\/a>\u2019s qualities and thus makes them happy; similar to the moon which makes one calm and enjoy.<\/p>\n<p>Even though <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\">emperumAn<\/a> as a mother gives us in similar ways, but since He is having svAthanthriyam (independence), there may be some heat (due to our karmas); but since <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a> does not have any svAthanthryam, his advice can be comforting only.<\/p>\n<p>It is said as \u2018<em>sudar mA madhi pOl thAyAy aLikkinRa<\/em> [periya thirumozhi \u2013 7.1.9]\u2019, where the moon is equated to mother in giving comfort; so it shows the quality of <em>vAthsalyam.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>So <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/03\/26\/thiruvarangathu-amudhanar\/\">amudhanAr<\/a> is thinking about three qualities of <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a> \u2013 generosity, kindness, and affection.
