Similarly,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/18\/nammazhwar-english\/\">nammAzhwAr<\/a> was mesmerized by krishNAnubhavam and became totally bound to <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\">emperumAn<\/a> being unable to free himself. But\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/01\/17\/madhurakavi-azhwar\/\">madhurakavi AzhwAr<\/a> relished krishNAnubhavam which is dear to his AchArya <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/18\/nammazhwar-english\/\">nammAzhwAr<\/a> but freed himself and focussed on <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/18\/nammazhwar-english\/\">nammAzhwAr<\/a>&#8216;s qualities, etc.<\/li>\n<li>When\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/01\/17\/madhurakavi-azhwar\/\">madhurakavi AzhwAr<\/a> was asked why he gave up relishing krishNAnubhavam,\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/01\/17\/madhurakavi-azhwar\/\">madhurakavi AzhwAr<\/a> replies &#8220;When some one gets some joy in this world or other world, they still look out for other favours since they have more time to spend. But for me, both in this world and the other world, <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/18\/nammazhwar-english\/\">nammAzhwAr<\/a> is the only master and goal. I am truly\/eternally surrendered to <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/18\/nammazhwar-english\/\">nammAzhwAr<\/a>&#8216;s golden feet. I do not know any God other than\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/18\/nammazhwar-english\/\">nammAzhwAr<\/a> who is filled with auspicious qualities and who is the leader of <a href=\"http:\/\/azhwarthirunagari.koyil.org\">AzhwArthirunagari<\/a>. I will roam around (spend my time) singing the sweet music of such AzhwAr&#8217;s pAsurams.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Highlights from <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/14\/nanjiyar-english\/\">nanjIyar<\/a>&#8216;s vyAkyAnam:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>It is said that &#8220;<em>mana: pUrvO vAguththara:<\/em>&#8221; (first thoughts and then words). Even that is not needed &#8211; just words without the initiative of mind is sufficient to glorify AzhwAr.<\/li>\n<li>As said in &#8220;<em>prathyakshE gurava: sthuthyA:<\/em>&#8221; (Glorify the AchArya in public and in his presence) &#8211; the purpose of the tongue is to glorify the AchArya who has done great favours.<\/li>\n<li>Like thiruvadi (hanumAn) said &#8220;<em>bhAvO nAnyathra gachchathi<\/em>&#8221; (I cannot think about any one else other than srI rAma), here\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/01\/17\/madhurakavi-azhwar\/\">madhurakavi AzhwAr<\/a> says &#8220;<em>maRRaRiyEn<\/em>&#8220;.<\/li>\n<li>As mentioned by <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/18\/nammazhwar-english\/\">nammAzhwAr<\/a> in thiruviruththam 53 &#8220;<em>dheivaththaNNan thuzhAyth thArAyinum thazhaiyAyinum thaN kombathAyinum kIzh vErAyinum ninRa maNNAyinum koNdu vIsuminE<\/em>&#8221; (Just scatter me <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\">emperumAn<\/a>&#8216;s thuLasi garland, its string alone, the leaves alone, its stem, its root or even the soil on which it was grown &#8211; I just need something related to <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\">emperumAn<\/a>&#8220;). Similarly, \u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/01\/17\/madhurakavi-azhwar\/\">madhurakavi AzhwAr<\/a> says the music of AzhwAr&#8217;s pAsuram itself is sufficient for him.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Highlights from <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/16\/nampillai-english\/\">nampiLLai<\/a>&#8216;s eedu vyAkyAnam:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>I took shelter of <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/18\/nammazhwar-english\/\">nammAzhwAr<\/a>&#8216;s golden feet. Here the key is to understand that\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/01\/17\/madhurakavi-azhwar\/\">madhurakavi AzhwAr<\/a> does not consider <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/18\/nammazhwar-english\/\">nammAzhwAr<\/a>&#8216;s lotus feet as just upAyam (means) to get something else &#8211; but as the ultimate goal as well.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/01\/17\/madhurakavi-azhwar\/\">madhurakavi AzhwAr<\/a>\u00a0gives up aiswaryam (material wealth\/pleasures), kaivalyam (enjoying one self) and <a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/12\/thathva-thrayam-iswara-who-is-god\/\">bhagavAn<\/a> too. Finally he is fully focussed on <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/18\/nammazhwar-english\/\">nammAzhwAr<\/a> alone.<\/li>\n<li>Like <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/18\/nammazhwar-english\/\">nammAzhwAr<\/a> himself said &#8220;<em>kurukUrch chatakOpan<\/em>&#8221; in thiruvAimozhi, here\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/01\/17\/madhurakavi-azhwar\/\">madhurakavi AzhwAr<\/a> says &#8220;<em>kurukUr nambi<\/em>&#8220;.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Highlights from <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/10\/05\/periyavachan-pillai-english\/\">periyavAchchAn piLLai<\/a>&#8216;s vyAkyAnam:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>As <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/18\/nammazhwar-english\/\">nammAzhwAr<\/a> said in thiruvAimozhi 4.5.3 &#8220;<em>vIvilinbam miga ellai niganzhnthanan mEvi<\/em>&#8221; (I attained utmost joy by surrendering to <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\">emperumAn<\/a>), here\u00a0\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/01\/17\/madhurakavi-azhwar\/\">madhurakavi AzhwAr<\/a> says &#8220;<em>inbameythinEn<\/em>&#8221; (attained bliss) &#8211; whatever <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/18\/nammazhwar-english\/\">nammAzhwAr<\/a> experienced in bhagavath vishayam,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/01\/17\/madhurakavi-azhwar\/\">madhurakavi AzhwAr<\/a> experiences that in <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/18\/nammazhwar-english\/\">nammAzhwAr<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Whatever <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/18\/nammazhwar-english\/\">nammAzhwAr<\/a> experienced by dedicating his mind, words and action (<em>chinthaiyAlum chollAlum cheykaiyinAlum<\/em> &#8211; thiruvAimozhi 6.5.11),\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/01\/17\/madhurakavi-azhwar\/\">madhurakavi AzhwAr<\/a> experiences the same just by words (<em>nAvinAl naviRRu<\/em>).<\/li>\n<li>As\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/01\/17\/madhurakavi-azhwar\/\">madhurakavi AzhwAr<\/a> says &#8220;<em>meymmaiyE mEvinEn<\/em>&#8221; (eternally surrendered), ALavandhAr follows in sthOthra rathnam 2 &#8220;<em>athra parathra chApi<\/em>&#8221; (in this and the other world).<\/li>\n<li>&#8220;<em>pAdith thirivan<\/em>&#8221; (spend my time singing) is like &#8220;uNdu thirivan&#8221; (eating and roaming around). Just like some people spend their time eating and roaming around,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/01\/17\/madhurakavi-azhwar\/\">madhurakavi AzhwAr<\/a> spends his time singing <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/18\/nammazhwar-english\/\">nammAzhwAr<\/a>&#8216;s thiruvAimozhi and preaching the same to others.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Highlights from <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/12\/15\/azhagiya-manavala-perumal-nayanar\/\">azhagiya maNavALa perumaL nAyanAr<\/a>&#8216;s vyAkyanam:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Why is\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/01\/17\/madhurakavi-azhwar\/\">madhurakavi AzhwAr<\/a> saying &#8220;<em>nAvinAl naviRRu<\/em>&#8220;? Isn&#8217;t it obvious that one can recite only with tongue? nAyanAr explains that &#8220;It means simply reciting with the tongue without engagement of the mind &#8211; that itself is sufficient&#8221;.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/01\/17\/madhurakavi-azhwar\/\">madhurakavi AzhwAr<\/a>\u00a0says &#8220;eythinEn&#8221; (past tense). In bhagavath vishayam, the bliss is attained in the future (after reaching paramapadham). But in AchArya vishayam, bliss is attained right here in this world and right now.<\/li>\n<li>ponnadi &#8211; golden feet. This is not &#8220;<em>ulagamaLantha ponnadi<\/em>&#8221; (periya thirumozhi &#8211; that which measured the three worlds and touched everyone&#8217;s head during the process) but &#8220;<em>thraividhya vruththa jana muRththa vibhUshaNa<\/em>&#8221;\u00a0 (parAnkusa ashtakam &#8211; the lotus feet that decorate the head of most knowledgable persons). Since its golden feet, it does not become contaminated even by my touch (Gold &#8211; purity).<\/li>\n<li>dhEvu maRRaRiyEn &#8211;\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/01\/17\/madhurakavi-azhwar\/\">madhurakavi AzhwAr<\/a> is fully following sAsthram, as thaithriya upanishadh says &#8220;<em>AchArya dhEvo bhava<\/em>&#8221; (Let the AchArya be God). A question is raised to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/01\/17\/madhurakavi-azhwar\/\">madhurakavi AzhwAr<\/a> &#8211; &#8220;But why did you say <a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/12\/thathva-thrayam-iswara-who-is-god\/\">bhagavAn<\/a> as ennappan (my swamy &#8211; lord)?&#8221;.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/01\/17\/madhurakavi-azhwar\/\">madhurakavi AzhwAr<\/a> says &#8220;that is because <a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/12\/thathva-thrayam-iswara-who-is-god\/\">bhagavAn<\/a> is dear to <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/18\/nammazhwar-english\/\">nammAzhwAr<\/a>&#8220;. This is like sIthA pirAtti helping srI rAma while he was performing thiruvArAdhanam to periya perumAL. sIthA pirAtti did not have any separate inclination towards periya perumAL &#8211; her motive was to assist srI rAma only.<\/li>\n<li>meymmaiyE &#8211; sathyam (truth) only. avan ponnadi meymmaiyE (bowed in front of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/18\/nammazhwar-english\/\">nammAzhwAr<\/a> truly) &#8211; would anyone lie when srI satakOpam (srI satAri &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/18\/nammazhwar-english\/\">nammAzhwAr<\/a>) is on ones head?<\/li>\n<li>kurukUr nambi &#8211; the leader of <a href=\"http:\/\/azhwarthirunagari.koyil.org\">AzhwArthirunagari<\/a> who is complete in auspicious qualities.
