great meaning,<br \/>\n<em>in nAnilaththE <\/em>\u2013 in this world.<\/p>\n<p>His greatness is greater than when compared to that <em>kaRpagam<\/em> (or, <em>kalpagam)<\/em> \u2013 his getting us to be his servants, and coming to our place searching; <em>parpal uyirgaL \u2013<\/em> various categories of life;<\/p>\n<p>some say it as \u2018<em>pal ulag<\/em><strong><em>il<\/em><\/strong><em> yAvum\u2019 <\/em>\u2013 but since it would be having excess number of syllables, it is not correct; would it not be incorrect to say \u2018<em>pallulagiyAvum\u2019 \u2013 <\/em>no it would not be incorrect as it is similar to <em>uraikkinRanan <u>umakk<\/u><\/em><u>iyAn<\/u>, where it fits the thamizh grammar on number of syllables.<\/p>\n<p><strong>vyAk<em>yAnam<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>ennai ALa vandha<\/em> \u2013 <\/strong>even though he incarnated here for the well being of all the people based on the command of SrIya:pathi, as said in <em>\u2018edhir sUzhal pukku enaiththOr piRappum enakkE aruLgaL seyya<\/em> [<a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/index.php\/2016\/05\/thiruvaimozhi-2-7-6-madhusudhanai-anri\/\">thiruvAimozhi \u2013 2.7.6<\/a>]\u2019 (He is friendly with me, and is appearing with tricks, and is doing favours exclusively for me (from initial merciful blessing to my total devotion towards him)), among all the people of the world, as said in \u2018<em>neesanEn niRaivu onRum ilEn<\/em> [<a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/index.php\/2016\/08\/thiruvaimozhi-3-3-4-isan-vanavarkku\/\">thiruvAimozhi \u2013 3.3.4<\/a>]\u2019 (am downtrodden (being filled with inauspicious qualities), and do not have any completeness (acquired through auspicious qualities)), to such most lowly me he showed his mercy, and so for blessing me and taking me as his servant (only for that he mainly came here).<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>vandha kaRpagam<\/em> \u2013 <\/strong>he came here; he is like the <em>kaRpagam <\/em>(tree that gives everything wished for).<\/p>\n<p>It is for this reason of saving him that <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a> incarnated \u2013 is the thought present in <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/03\/26\/thiruvarangathu-amudhanar\/\">amudhanAr<\/a>\u2019s mind, you see.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>vandha kaRpagam<\/em><\/strong> \u2013 kaRpagam that came from <em>nithyavibhUthi <\/em>(SrIvaikuNtam) to <em>leelA vibhUthi<\/em> ; like <em>kaRpagam,<\/em> he satisfies our wishes; but, that <em>kARpagam <\/em>is non-sentient, a tree (which cannot move), which fulfills the wishes related to material world only, and is present in one particular (lowly) place; this <em>kaRpagam<\/em> (<a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a>) is quite distinguished compared to that, is non-material (since he is an incarnation of Adhi SEshan), and is as said in \u2018<em>ajahath thrivargam apavarga vaibhavam\u2019<\/em> (does not leave; gives that great place of SrIvaikuNtam), and in \u2018<em>nalam antham illadhOr nAdu puguveer<\/em> [<a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/index.php\/2016\/05\/thiruvaimozhi-2-8-4-pulan-aindhum\/\">thiruvAi mozhi \u2013 2.8.4<\/a>]\u2019 (Oh the ones who desire to enter distinct\/unique abode of unlimited bliss!), and in \u2018<em>nalla padhaththAl manai vAzhvar koNda peNdir makkaLE<\/em> [<a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/index.php\/thiruvaimozhi\/\">thiruvAimozhi<\/a> \u2013 8.10.11]\u2019 (~will get all the good things in this world), he is having the generosity to give all the benefits in this and the other world, and which pervades both the worlds (his generosity is spread so), and is eternal. So, <strong><em>vandha kaRpagam <\/em><\/strong>\u2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/03\/26\/thiruvarangathu-amudhanar\/\">amudhanAr<\/a> said it that way comparing <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a> to a tree only for \u2018<em>SAkAchandhra nyAyEna bhudhdhi ArOpa\u2019 <\/em>(pointing to the moon visible in between two trees does not mean that moon is actually present between trees; so to make us understand, he compared <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a> to the<em> kaRpagam<\/em> tree, but <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a> is of course much more than that).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/03\/26\/thiruvarangathu-amudhanar\/\">amudhanAr<\/a> is saying \u2019<strong><em>vandha kaRpagam\u2019<\/em> <\/strong>thinking that &#8211; it is a great generosity for him to have come to the place I was in and to accept me &#8211; and so <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/03\/26\/thiruvarangathu-amudhanar\/\">amudhanAr<\/a> is happy to think about this.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>kaRRavar kAmuRu seelan<\/em><\/strong> \u2013 the learned ones who have practiced all the SAsthrams and so are knowledgeable; the great ones like <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/04\/01\/vaduga-nambi\/\">vaduga nambi<\/a> who is celebrated as \u2018<em>unnai ozhiya oru dheivam maRRu aRiyA, mannu pugazh sEr vaduga nambi<\/em> [<a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/index.php\/2016\/07\/arththi-prabandham-11\/\">Arththi prabandham &#8211; 11<\/a>]\u2019 ( the great <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/04\/01\/vaduga-nambi\/\">vaduga nambi<\/a> who knew no god apart from you.), <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/03\/31\/kidambi-achan\/\">kidAmbi AchchAn<\/a> \u2013 for such ones to love <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a> \u2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a> having such characteristics, and having good ways of behavior;<\/p>\n<p>Or, it is also about <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a>\u2019s quality of simplicity that he mixes easily with the lowly ones;<\/p>\n<p>During the time when <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a> was living in kOyil (SrIrangam), during a noon, while returning after bathing in divine kAvEri, when\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/thirukkoshtiyur-nambi\/\">thirukkOshtiyUr nambi<\/a> came towards them, and <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a> fully fell on his feet and stayed that way, nambi kept quiet without seeing him and saying \u2018get up!\u2019, <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/03\/31\/kidambi-achan\/\">kidAmbi AchchAn<\/a> saw this situation and showed his anger and shouted \u2018nambi! Are you thinking of killing him?!\u2019, and he quickly pulled away <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a> who was lying down in the hot sand \u2013 this is very famous among our people. (People like <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/03\/31\/kidambi-achan\/\">kidAmbi AchchAn<\/a> having such love towards the divine body of <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a>, that due to such love which makes one cross the normal limits set by society, out of such love he crossed the limits of ways of talking to an AchAryan like <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/thirukkoshtiyur-nambi\/\">thirukkOshtiyUr nambi<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/guruparamparai.files.wordpress.com\/2013\/03\/kidambi-achan.jpeg?w=409&amp;h=570\" alt=\"kidAmbi AchchAn\" width=\"333\" height=\"465\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">kidAmbi AchchAn<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>aRpudham semmai<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0 &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a> is being wonderful due to his acts beyond human level, and like how one would put effort to pull water to higher level places where water wouldn\u2019t flow into, <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a> does not leave the people seeing their bad qualities, but makes himself accessible to them and interacts with them (for their betterment), he having such honesty\/sincerity;<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>irAmAnusan \u2013 <\/em><\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>karudhariya<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0 &#8211; cannot fully finish thinking about it, if one attempts to think about it &#8211;<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>paRpal uyirgaLum \u2013 <\/em><\/strong>many many <a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/06\/thathva-thrayam-chith-who-am-i\/\">AthmAs<\/a>; <a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/06\/thathva-thrayam-chith-who-am-i\/\">AthmAs<\/a> of various species\/counts;\u00a0 by \u2018<em>pal pal\u2019<\/em> it says that there are innumerable species and there are innumerable <a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/06\/thathva-thrayam-chith-who-am-i\/\">AthmAs<\/a> within each of them; thus innumerable <a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/06\/thathva-thrayam-chith-who-am-i\/\">AthmAs<\/a> as said in \u2018<em>eNperukkan nalaththu oN poruL<\/em> [<a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/index.php\/2015\/05\/thiruvaimozhi-1-2-10-en-perukku\/\">thiruvAimozhi \u2013 1.2.10<\/a>]\u2019 (infinite number of <a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/06\/thathva-thrayam-chith-who-am-i\/\">jIvAthmA<\/a>s; <a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/06\/thathva-thrayam-chith-who-am-i\/\">jIvAthmA<\/a>s are abode of gyAnam (knowledge). In the 3rd letter of praNavam (makAram), <a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/06\/thathva-thrayam-chith-who-am-i\/\">jIvAthmA<\/a>s are explained as the abode of gyAnam and as knower; \u00a0is distinct object (sentient object) \u2013 unlike <a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/09\/thathva-thrayam-achith-what-is-matter\/\">achith<\/a> (matter) which does not have knowledge, <a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/06\/thathva-thrayam-chith-who-am-i\/\">jIvAthmA<\/a> (chith) knows himself through dharmi gyAnam (consciousness) and other objects through dharma bhUtha gyAnam (knowledge);\u00a0 and, they are countless.);<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>pal ulagu yAvum<\/em> \u2013 <\/strong>all the worlds that are place for these <a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/06\/thathva-thrayam-chith-who-am-i\/\">AthmAs<\/a>, and which are innumerable;<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>paranadhu ennum<\/em><\/strong> \u2013 As said in \u2018<em>para:parAnAm\u2019<\/em>, He is the lord for brahmA, rudhran, and others, (all these <a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/06\/thathva-thrayam-chith-who-am-i\/\">Athmas<\/a> and worlds) are subservient only to that <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\">emperumAn<\/a> who is the husband of thAyAr (lakshmI).<\/p>\n<p>As said in \u2018<em>sarvESa: abhi sanAthana akila jagath vyAptha avabOtha amala anantha AkAra yudhObhi anandha suguNa: sarvAthmanAm SasithA \u2013 dhEhee dhAraNa Sasana ESana mukai: svAdheena nithya sththithi: svAmI nithyamanOkya mangaLa vapu: SrI bhUmi neeLAdhipa:\u2019, <\/em>\u00a0(~ He is the controller of everything, He is present everywhere from very old times, He is known as pure, and of many facets, innumerable qualities, being <a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/06\/thathva-thrayam-chith-who-am-i\/\">AthmA<\/a> in everyone, who controls, rules, supports us, and He keeps everying under His hold, He is (thus) svAmI; he is the husband of SrI, bhUmi and neeLA pirAttis), he is saying that all of enjoyment, supporting materials for enjoyment, all ways of enjoyments, and the enjoyment are all towards nArAyaNan who is the lord of everyone and everything.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>naR poruL thannai &#8211; <\/em><\/strong>\u00a0(<a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a> established) such good knowledge that is to be gained; or, such great meaning;<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>in nAnilaththE vandhu \u2013 <\/em><\/strong>for all of this world to be better, he came by himself and incarnated;<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>nAttinanE<\/em><\/strong> \u2013 without anyone praying for it, without anything triggering it, he established (such great meaning).<\/p>\n<p>Thus, instead of advising just to one at one point in time, for all the people to experience at all times, and be saved, he established such great meaning through SrIbAshyam.<\/p>\n<p>ALavandhAr too divined, \u2018<em>yathaNdam aNdAnthara gOcharamcha yath dhaSOththarANyAvaraNAni yAnicha \u2013 guNA: pradhAnam pursha: parampadham parAthparam brahmacha thE vibhUthaya:\u2019 (~ <\/em>the many fourteen worlds, all the waters surrounding them, all the things\/sentient in them are all yours)<em>;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>He is having greatness compared to that <em>kaRpagam (or kalpagam) tree<\/em> \u2013 his coming to our place for getting us to serve him.<\/p>\n<p>Some say it as \u2018<em>pal ulag<\/em><em>il<\/em><em> yAvum\u2019 <\/em>\u2013 but since it would be having excess number of syllables, it is not correct; would it not be incorrect to say \u2018<em>pallulagiyAvum\u2019 \u2013 <\/em>no it would not be incorrect as it is similar to <em>uraikkinRanan <u>umakk<\/u><\/em><u>iyAn<\/u>, where it fits the thamizh grammar of count of syllables \u2013 said jIyar.<\/p>\n<p><strong>From AzhwAr thirunagari SrI U.Ve. <em>vidhwAn thirumalai nallAn chakravarththi rAmakrishNa iyengAr\u2019s \u2018amudha virundhu\u2019:<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>vandha kaRpagam <\/em><\/strong>\u00a0&#8211; so all belong to Him \u2013 as said by \u2018<em>adhu\u2019<\/em> in this phrase of pAsuram;\u00a0 it is said this is the important meaning that is not accepted by those of other philosophies and is accepted as a main meaning by us, so <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/03\/26\/thiruvarangathu-amudhanar\/\">amudhanAr<\/a> is calling it as \u2018<strong><em>naR poruL\u2019 \u2013 <\/em><\/strong><em>pradhAna prathithanthra artham; <\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Here, by saying<em> <strong>\u2018paR pal uyir paranadhu\u2019<\/strong>, <\/em>\u00a0it shows the distinction between <a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/06\/thathva-thrayam-chith-who-am-i\/\">jeevAthmA<\/a> and paramAthmA, and the distinction among the <a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/06\/thathva-thrayam-chith-who-am-i\/\">AthmAs<\/a> themselves;
