{"id":10809,"date":"2016-09-04T18:06:39","date_gmt":"2016-09-04T18:06:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/?p=10809"},"modified":"2016-09-04T18:06:39","modified_gmt":"2016-09-04T18:06:39","slug":"uththara-dhinacharya-1","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/index.php\/2016\/09\/uththara-dhinacharya-1\/","title":{"rendered":"uththara dhinacharyA &#8211; 1"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><small>SrI:\u00a0 SrImathE SatakOpAya nama:\u00a0 SrImathE rAmAnujAya nama:\u00a0 SrImath varavaramunayE nama:<\/small><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/index.php\/2015\/05\/sri-varavaramuni-dhinacharya\/\">Full Series<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/index.php\/2016\/08\/yathiraja-vimsathi-20\">&lt;&lt; Previous<\/a><\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">itiyatikuladhuryamedhamaanaisruti madhurairuditai: prahaharshayantam<\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<em> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">varavaramunimeva chintayantee matiriyametiniratyayam prasadam<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Word to Word meaning<\/strong><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">iti= as stated from &#8220;Sreemaadhavaanghri&#8221; unto &#8220;vigyaapanam&#8221;<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">etamaanai= the ever further evolving<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">sruti madhurai= pleasant to hear<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">uditai=utterances<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">yatikula dhuryam=on the chief of the yatis lineage, Ramanuja<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">praharshayantam=while pleasing him<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">varavaramuni eva= always steadfast in Sri varavara muni<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">iyam mati=my mind<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">niratyayam=permanantly<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">prasadam eti=attains clarity<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>COMMENTARY<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sri Erumbiyappa is consoled and pleased that his mind which \u00a0was until now drowned in turmoil \u00a0in the attained and unattainable matters, has now reached the status of thinking only of Sri Varavaramuni who plunged Sri Yatiraja in joy by submitting to him Yatiraja Vimsati and there by is rid of its earlier turbulance and absolutely calm. \u00a0By stating &#8220;Varavaramni eva&#8221; he specifically says the bliss is due not directly by thinking of Yatiraja but by thinking of Mamuni who pleased Yatiraja by his stotra. \u00a0More than by the thought of \u00a0Bhagavan, or Bhagavatas, or even the Acharya the mental clarity attained by thinking of Mamuni who is absolute in his devotion to Acharya is supreme and also stable. \u00a0Though this Text is small in size with only just 20 verses, these utterances are referred to by the word &#8220;edhamaanai&#8221; which sound excessive perhaps due to the Grace of Sri Ramanuja who would consider each verse by Mamuni as equal to a thousand paeans<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mahatmas consider our love unto them even of very petty measure as big and valuable. \u00a0In the word &#8220;praharshayantam&#8221;, indicating bliss, the word &#8220;Harsham&#8221; is preceded by &#8220;pra&#8221; indicating Sri Ramanuja&#8221;s immense happiness unto Mamuni. \u00a0Sri Ramanuja&#8221;s happiness unto Mamuni is just due to the devotion and Mamuni is not going to think of obtaining \u00a0any material gain by this happiness of Acharya. \u00a0\u00a0By the word &#8220;Chintayantee&#8221;, it is clear that Mamuni who is always thnking of Sri Ramanuja is unique compared to Chintayantee the gopi who was always thnking of Sri Krishna or Nammazhwar who is known as Dheergha Chintayantee due to his immeasurable deep love for Him. \u00a0Here the words were split into three parts&#8230;..sruti, madhurai, and uditai. \u00a0\u00a0This can also be split into srutimadhurai and uditai, when ruditai would mean crying. \u00a0From the stanza &#8220;Alpaapi me&#8221; as Mamuni is \u00a0mostly talking about his ignorance, lack of devotion, and cries &#8220;haahanta hanta&#8221; explaining his pain, and as crying always leads to self effulgence we can take the word to be &#8220;ruditai&#8221;. \u00a0Is it necessary to say that it will please Sri Ramanuja to listen to the cries asking for Moksha? \u00a0So \u00a0Mamuni used the word &#8220;ruditai&#8221;.
