the noble ones who are <em>ananya prayOjanar <\/em>(not seeking any other benefit), and <em>ananyasAdhanar<\/em> (not using something else as the means (for reaching <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a>\/<a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\">emperumAn<\/a>),<br \/>\n<em>udhippana<\/em> \u2013 as bright as the sun that has risen, as said in <em>\u2018ellaiyil seer iLa gyAyiRu iraNdu pOl<\/em> [<a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/index.php\/thiruvaimozhi\/\">thiruvAimozhi<\/a> \u2013 8.5.5]<em>\u2019 <\/em>((your two divine feet) are rising bright (in my heart) like two young suns);<br \/>\n<em>onRalar<\/em> \u2013 the opposing ones who reject or misinterpret vEdhas<br \/>\n<em>nenjam \u00ad<\/em> &#8211; heart<br \/>\n<em>anji<\/em>\u00ad \u2013 scared<br \/>\n<em>kodhiththida \u2013 <\/em>and suffer in that fire of fear<br \/>\n<em>mARi nadappana \u2013 <\/em>(such divine feet) is of nature of each of the feet walking one after the other;<br \/>\n<em>koLLai \u2013 <\/em>(I having) abundant<br \/>\n<em>van \u2013 <\/em>and dangerous\/powerful<br \/>\n<em>kuRRam ellAm <\/em>\u00a0&#8211; blemishes, which are all,<br \/>\n<em>padhiththa \u2013<\/em> kept pressed together (in me),<br \/>\n<em>en<\/em> \u2013 (such) my<br \/>\n<em>pun kavi <\/em>\u00a0&#8211; lowly poetry<br \/>\n<em>pAvinam <\/em>\u00a0&#8211; of group of meters<br \/>\n<em>pUNdana \u2013 <\/em>are worn (by those divine feet of <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>Oh what a nature of these divine feet \u2013 is the thought here.<\/p>\n<p>Since <em>kaliththuRai <\/em>(type of poetry of this prabandham) is one of the group, that is also the reason for saying <em>pAvinam.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>vyAk<em>yAnam<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>pAvu thol seer \u00ad<\/em><\/strong>\u2013 pAvu -&gt; spreading;\u00a0 As he himself said earlier as \u2018<em>thisai anaiththum ERum guNan<\/em>\u2019, <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a>\u2019s auspicious qualities are spread in all the directions; theose qualities are not something that were artificially acquired but are innate.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>ethith thalai nAthan <\/em><\/strong>\u2013 Starting from <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/11\/28\/arulala-perumal-emperumanar\/\"><em>aruLALap perumAL <\/em>emperumAnAr<\/a><em>, <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/07\/embar\/\">embAr<\/a><\/em>, for the seven hundred <em>jeeyars<\/em>, \u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a> is the set master, and advising them the nature, means, and destiny up to their true inner meanings (from <a href=\"http:\/\/ponnadi.blogspot.in\/2015\/12\/rahasya-thrayam.html\">thirumanthram<\/a>; if we research to see if there is anyone equal to these divine feet, even sarvESvaran who is having greatness as said in \u2018<em>rasOvaisa:<\/em>\u00a0 <em>rasamhyEvAyam labhdhvAnandhee bhavathi\u2019 <\/em>(emperumAn is enjoyable to everyone), \u2018<em>kOhyEvAn nyAthvap prANyAth\u2019, \u2018yadhESa AkASa AnandhOnabhyAth\u2019, \u2018yEshahyEvAnandhayAthi\u2019 <\/em>(He gives His enjoyability to everyone (thus being their protector), and having auspicious qualities), and \u2018<em>aham thvA sarva pApEbhyO mOkshayishyAmi <\/em>[<a href=\"http:\/\/githa.koyil.org\/\">SrI bhagavath gIthA<\/a>]<em>\u2019<\/em> (~ I will liberate you from all sins), thus as said by vEdhas and himself,\u00a0 it is having to be doubted whether He would give liberation or not as said in <em>\u2018sidhdhir bhavathi vA nEthi samsayOchyutha sEvinAm\u2019<\/em>\u00a0 (even for those who serve achyuthan it is doubtful whether they achieve him or not\u2019, \u00a0and since He went without gracing bharathAzhvAn, it is also not equal to these (divine feet) as the means.<\/p>\n<p>As said in \u2018<em>na samsayasthu thadhbhaktha paricharyA rathAthmanA gururEva parA bhakthi: gururEva parA kAma:<\/em>\u2019,\u00a0 \u2018<em>upAya upEva bhAvEna thamEva SaraNam vraja\u2019, <\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a>\u2019s divine feet is of help without having to have any doubts, and is distinct and is having strength as reference, the means (of <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a>\u2019s divine feet) is being great than the aforementioned. So for that greatness only the two divine feet are equal to each other, is the idea.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>udhippana uththamar sindhaiyuL<\/em><\/strong> \u2013 <em>uththamar are -&gt; <\/em>the opposite of the lowly and middle level ones who do not accept vEdhas, and those who follow vEdhas but are focussed on worldly dharmas (<em>SamAnya SAsthram)<\/em>, and their actions; they are the ones who fully follow vEdhas, and who act based on higher levels of the SAsthram <em>(viSesha SAsthram)<\/em>, and who are <em>mumukshus<\/em> (those who wish to be liberated from this world (and to reach paramapadham)), and who are eminent, and who do not go after any other means, and who do not wish for any other benefits, such highest level followers;<\/p>\n<p>Or, since this prabandham of <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/03\/26\/thiruvarangathu-amudhanar\/\">amudhanAr<\/a> is the SAsthra related to <em>charama parvam <\/em>(ultimate state of subservience to AchAryan), this phrase would be about: among <em>mumukshus <\/em>(who wish for liberation including using other means)<em>, EkAnthis <\/em>(using emperumAn only as the means), and<em> paramaikAnthis<\/em> (those who consider only AchAryan\u2019s divine feet), here <em>uththamar <\/em>can be said to refer to <em>paramaikAnthis.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>sindhaiyuL<\/em><\/strong> \u2013 in their divine minds,<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>udhippana\u00a0 &#8211;<\/em><\/strong> As said in <em>\u2018ellaiyil seer iLa nAyiRu iraNdu pOl<\/em> [<a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/index.php\/thiruvaimozhi\/\">thiruvAimozhi<\/a> \u2013 8.5.5]<em>\u2019 <\/em>((your two divine feet) are rising bright (in my heart) like two young suns), like two suns rising together in <em>chakravALa parvatham <\/em>(the usual mountainous place from where the sun rises with his chariot), in the divine minds of noble ones the two divine feet of <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a> would always rise and be present bright;\u00a0 for the aforementioned ones who do not have faith in them, those divine feet would never be present; it would only appear for those who have the love towards them;<\/p>\n<p>{<strong>Translator\u2019s note<\/strong>: For AzhvAr in <a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/index.php\/thiruvaimozhi\/\">thiruvAimozhi<\/a> 8.5.5 above, the two suns that are the divine feet of emperumAn gave trouble only in some way like it does for the nocturnals, whereas emperumAnAr\u2019s two divine feet are life support and enjoyable for those who surrendered to them}.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/mamunigal\/\">jeeyar<\/a> too divined, \u2018<em>yatheendhra nAtha | SishtAgragaNya janasEvya bhavath padhAbhjE<\/em> [yathirAja vimSathi]\u2019.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/guruparamparai.wordpress.com\/2015\/06\/05\/vedhanthacharyar\/\">abhiyukthar<\/a> too divined, \u2018<em>ajadASayOdhayam yathirAja chandhram<\/em> [yathirAja sapthathi]<em>\u2019.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>onRalar nenjam anjik kodhiththida mARi nadappana<\/em> \u2013 <\/strong><em>onRalar \u2013 <\/em>is the opposing one like those who reject or misinterpret vEdhas; their heart would be afraid like how the nocturnals (like owl\/bat\/thief) would be afraid of sun rise; the rise of his divine feet as said in \u2018<em>kshiptha prathyarthi dhripthi: \u2019 <\/em>(one who gives to those who wish for and get satisfied (with the divine feet))<em> , <\/em>would create fear in them, like the brightness of sun would make those nocturnals suffer, the brightness of his divine feet would make the opposing ones suffer; like the sun rises as an enemy of those nocturnals and rises in different positions during <em>uththarAyanam and dhakshiNAyanam, \u00a0<\/em>his divine feet is also spread as an enemy in all directions and be of a different way (for the ones opposing).<\/p>\n<p>By this, it talks about: to drive away those who reject or misinterpret vEdhas, how <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a> made divine yAthrAs to <em>vEnkatAchalam (thirumalai), yAdhavAchalam (mElkOte), SAradhA peetam (kAshmiram), etc.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>koLLai van kuRRam ellAm padhiththa<\/em><\/strong> \u2013 As said in \u2018<em>nanindhitham karma thadhasthi lOkE sahasrachO yan na mayA vyadhAyi <\/em>[sthOthra rathnam \u2013 25]\u2019 (there are no sins in this world which I have not committed many times), \u2019<em>thEbhya: abhyathikAnyahamabhikshuthra: karOmikshaNAth\u2019<\/em> (~ I have been accumulating sins for long, He has been incarnating to help me get rid of the sins, but I keep adding to it), \u2018<em>yAvachcha yachcha dhuritham, sakalasyajanthO: thAvath thaththadhi gancham Asthi sathyam\u2019 <\/em>(whatever sins were made by everyone in the world, I have accumulated more sins than the total of them), since the sins were done (by me) at all times in all the ways , they are abundant and powerful\/dangerous, and they are combined together into one big bulk (into this prabandham);<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>en pun kavip pA inam &#8211;<\/em><\/strong> <strong><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>Since this poetry of mine who does not have the knowledge, and knowledge about the form of writing poetry, it is being lowly, and not put together well, such group of metrics of my poetry; Or, since the <em>kaliththuRai <\/em>form of poetry includes multiple metrics, he calls it as <strong><em>\u2018pA inam\u2019<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>pUNdana <\/em><\/strong>\u00a0&#8211; Without seeing any defect in this poetry thinking that these are the words of this ignorant one, his divine feet decorated themselves with this poetry, like how emperumAn would decorate Himself with the garland that is put together (without seeing what it contains, etc).<\/p>\n<p>You see, he is being happy thinking about such nature of those divine feet.<\/p>\n<p><strong>From AzhwAr thirunagari SrI U.Ve. <em>vidhwAn thirumalai nallAn chakravarththi rAmakrishNa iyengAr\u2019s \u2018amudha virundhu\u2019:<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>onRalar &#8230; mARi nadappana- <\/em><\/strong><em>\u00a0onRalar \u2013 <\/em>who do not join\/are not proper; they are those who reject or misinterpret vEdhas; for winning them, the divine journey of <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a> to thiruvEnkatam etc., is to be thought about here.<\/p>\n<p>It is well known that by the way of his walk, yagya mUrththy got afraid and lost to him.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>udhippana -&gt;<\/em><\/strong> like rising sun \u2013 enjoyability of those divine feet<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>nadappana -&gt;
