In this pAsuram \u2013 talks about how he was attracted to worldly matters of women, etc., and how <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a> got him due to his extreme kindness; so saying, <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/03\/26\/thiruvarangathu-amudhanar\/\">amudhanAr,<\/a> with happiness, places his head on the divine feet of <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Introduction (given by <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/04\/08\/pillai-lokam-jiyar\/\"><strong>piLLailOkam jIyar<\/strong><\/a><strong>)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In the previous pAsuram, the worldly people who did not reform even after <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\">emperumAn<\/a> had incarnated here, had done so after <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a>\u2019s incarnation; they reformed and became distinguished servants of <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\">emperumAn<\/a> \u2013 said <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/03\/26\/thiruvarangathu-amudhanar\/\">amudhanAr<\/a>. In this pAsuram \u2013 my <a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/06\/thathva-thrayam-chith-who-am-i\/\">AthmA<\/a> was deteriorating due to tightly bound love towards the breasts of young women of decorations from feet to head; <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a> who is without any blemishes, who is having the greatness of knowledge by which he can advice us that the husband of <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\">pirAtti<\/a> that is <a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/index.php\/2015\/07\/ramanusa-nurranthadhi\/\">thiruvarangach chelvanAr<\/a> (<a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\">emperumAn<\/a> at SrIrangam) is the true lord available for all the <a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/06\/thathva-thrayam-chith-who-am-i\/\">AthmAs<\/a>, and so <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a> had shown his kindness to the worldly people (talked about in the previous pAsuram), has now poured such limitless kindness towards me, and pulled me out of the mud that had covered me, that is, from my attraction towards worldly matters. Oh do you see that greatness! \u2013 enjoys <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/03\/26\/thiruvarangathu-amudhanar\/\">amudhanAr<\/a> and places his head on the divine feet of <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><em>AyizhaiyAr kongai thangum akkAdhal aLaRRazhundhi<\/em><br \/>\n<em>mAyum en Aviyai vandhu eduththAn inRu mAmalarAL<\/em><br \/>\n<em>nAyakan ellA uyuirgatkum nAthan arangan ennum<\/em><br \/>\n<em>thUyavan theedhil irAmAnusan thollaruL surandhE\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 42<\/em><\/p>\n<h3><a href=\"http:\/\/yourlisten.com\/sarathy.thothathri\/ramanusa-nurranthadhi-42\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Listen<\/a><\/h3>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" style=\"width: 100%;\" src=\"\/\/yourlisten.com\/embed\/html5?17524617\" width=\"300\" height=\"150\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>Word by word meaning (given by <\/strong><a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/mamunigal\/\"><strong>maNavALa mAmunigaL<\/strong><\/a><strong>)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Ay <\/em>\u2013 exclusively selected; Using flowers, ornaments, they hide the blemishes of their body from being visible, and make us infatuated, and so they choose the ones (ornaments, etc.) that are suitable for their form;<br \/>\n<em>izhaiyAr<\/em> \u2013 having such ornaments, and wearing of which is their identity \u2013 such women\u2019s \u2013<br \/>\n<em>kongai thangum<\/em> \u2013 staying only in their breasts and not in any other parts,<br \/>\n<em>ak<\/em> \u2013 (that) \u2013 the (love) that cannot be explained in words, that lowly love;<br \/>\n<em>azhundhi<\/em> \u2013 (I had) set deep<br \/>\n<em>kAdhal aLaRu \u2013 <\/em>in the mud slush that is the love towards them,<br \/>\n<em>en Aviyai \u2013 <\/em>and so my <a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/06\/thathva-thrayam-chith-who-am-i\/\">AthmA<\/a><br \/>\n<em>mAyum<\/em> \u2013 was deteriorating (that is, loss of being according to the true nature);<br \/>\nlike how the virtuous ones who know how to pull out the one stuck in mud immersing to death, (<a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a> did that to me by saying -)<br \/>\n<em>mAmalarAL nAyakan<\/em> \u2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\">thAyAr\u2019s husband<\/a><br \/>\n<em>arangan \u2013 <\/em>that is, <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\">periya perumAL<\/a> is the only<br \/>\n<em>nAthan &#8211; <\/em>lord<br \/>\n<em>ella uyuirgatkum<\/em> \u2013 for all the <a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/06\/thathva-thrayam-chith-who-am-i\/\">AthmA<\/a>s &#8211;<br \/>\n<em>ennum &#8211; <\/em>\u00a0so advises<br \/>\n<em>irAmAnusan<\/em> \u2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a>,<br \/>\n<em>thUyavan<\/em> \u2013 who is having purity of knowledge, and when advising in this way,<br \/>\n<em>theedhu il \u2013 <\/em>not having blemishes like doing it for money, fame, etc.,<br \/>\n<em>thol aruL \u2013 <\/em>his natural kindness<br \/>\n<em>surandhu<\/em> &#8211; kindled,<br \/>\n<em>vandhu \u2013<\/em> he came as pushed by that kindness<br \/>\n<em>inRu eduththAn<\/em> \u2013 and now saved me.<br \/>\n\u2018Oh how great that is!\u2019 is the meaning.<\/p>\n<p><em>ak kAdhal \u2013<\/em> is also to mention that it is to be avoidable.<\/p>\n<p><strong>vyAk<em>yAnam<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Ay izhaiyAr<\/em><\/strong> \u2013 As said in \u2018<em>charmA srag mAmsamEmE dhOsthi majjA chuklAdhi samyuthE | dhEhE\u00a0 chEth preethimAn mUdO\u2019,<\/em> (body is of components of skin, meat, bones, etc., (so something that is in the form of combination of other things is bound to deteriorate) &#8211; those who are having love towards such body is the fool\/ignorant), and, \u2018<em>krimi janthu sangulam\u2019<\/em> (it includes germs, etc.,), and \u2018<em>svabhAva\u00a0 dhurgandham asoucham adhruvam kaLEbaram mUthra pureesha bajanam\u2019<\/em> (smells bad by nature, impure, this body is the holder of urine, etc.), and \u2018<em>mudaithaliyUn <\/em>[<a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/index.php\/2015\/07\/ramanusa-nurranthadhi\/\">rAmAnusa nURRanthAdhi<\/a> &#8211; 96]\u2019 (having meat of bad smell) \u2013 such is the body which is to be avoided, and they hide such nature of the body by decorating themselves with clothes, jewels, sandal paste etc., and look beautiful from feet to head \u2013 such young women\u2019s &#8211;<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Ay <\/em><\/strong><em>\u2013 <\/em>selected choices of (ornaments);<\/p>\n<p>Like those who join the palms with outward respect (and say nama: etc.,) while appearing to be not having any defects,\u00a0 they are having such decorations on themselves;\u00a0 <strong>{<\/strong> Translator&#8217;s note: Contrast this with the gOpikAs who wear ornaments in <a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/index.php\/2015\/01\/thiruppavai-27-kudarai-vellum\/\">thiruppAvai &#8211; 27<\/a> <strong>}<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>kongai thangum<\/em><\/strong><strong> \u2013 <\/strong>As said in \u2018<em>sthanau mAmsa grandhee\u2019 <\/em>(two breasts that are swell nodes of meat),\u00a0 being attracted to such breasts of meat, not understanding its blemishes, but thinking of them as enjoyable, and having no ability to look at anything else (even in that body), like one having strong thirst for water would always stay around near a water-shed, he is living in them permanently;<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>ak kAdhal alaRRazhundhi<\/em><\/strong><strong> \u2013<\/strong> like them the love also which is very lowly which is like a deep mud in which he is immersing; or, such love which is beyond words (not understandable);<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>mAyum <\/em><\/strong><strong><em>\u00a0&#8211;<\/em><\/strong> deteriorating (<a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/06\/thathva-thrayam-chith-who-am-i\/\">AthmA<\/a>)<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>en Aviyai <\/em><\/strong><strong>\u2013 &#8216;<\/strong>Earlier you had talked about <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a> lifting up the worldly people, but how did you know about that? In case you had heard about it in private learning, would we have to believe that?&#8217;\u00a0 No, I did not hear about this based on preaching \u2013 I am the eye witness of it, saying that he points to himself, saying \u2018<em>en Aviyai\u2019 <\/em>here, that is, my <a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/06\/thathva-thrayam-chith-who-am-i\/\">AthmA<\/a>.\u00a0 My <a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/06\/thathva-thrayam-chith-who-am-i\/\">AthmA<\/a> which was like a non-existent one (which he made to be like existent based on his kindness); My <a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/06\/thathva-thrayam-chith-who-am-i\/\">AthmA<\/a> which does not have any means (for getting such grace).<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>mAmalarAL <\/em><\/strong><strong>\u2013 <\/strong>mA malar \u2013 great flower \u2013 implies lotus that is enjoyable among all types of flowers; since that flower is like an example for her (<a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\">pirAtti<\/a>\u2019s) divine hands, feet, and eyes, etc, and since it is having great fragrance it is so enjoyable and is an example for her greatness, and since she is born in that flower and lives there, she is referred as \u2018<em>mAmalarAL\u2019. <\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>mAmalarAL nAyakan<\/em><\/strong><strong> \u2013 <\/strong>Since <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\">nArAyaNan<\/a> is bound to be common to both bondage and liberation, and bound to punish if people do not follow the instructions, He might be accused of \u2018<em>vaishamya nairgruNyE na sApEkshathvAth <\/em>[brahma sUthram &#8211; prayOjanathvAth adhikaraNam \u2013 chapter 2] (brahmam does not have partiality or cruelty (because the happy and sad parts of lives of <a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/06\/thathva-thrayam-chith-who-am-i\/\">jIvAthmAs<\/a> are due to their deeds)<em>\u2019, <\/em>and \u2018<em>krutha prayathnA apEkshasthu vihitha prathishidhdhA vai yathArdhdhibhya: \u00a0<\/em>[brahma sUthram &#8211; parAyaththa adhikaraNam \u2013 chapter 2]\u2019 (~ SAsthram has asked him to do certain things and not do certain things \u2013 if one says that only <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\">emperumAn<\/a> instigates people to do or not do things, then instructions of do\u2019s and don\u2019ts of SAsthram would be pointless; so it is with their own efforts that people do and not do certain things and so they do not follow \/ oppose the instructions of vEdhas, and thus accumulate karmas),<\/p>\n<p>and so He sees the deeds and misdeeds of people and will hand them its effects accordingly \u2013 is how one would have to be afraid of if <a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/sriman-narayanan\/\">nArAyaNan<\/a> were a bachelor.<\/p>\n<p>Since He is <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\">not a bachelor<\/a>, as said in \u2018<em>saha dharmachareem saurEssammandhritha jagaththithAm | anugrahamayeevandhE nithyamagyAtha nigrahAm\u2019<\/em> (sowri rajan\u2019s wife who is focused on the good for all the people, bow to Her who does not know punishing), <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\">thAyAr<\/a> is such, and she always graces us, reminds <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\">emperumAn<\/a> about the goodness of the world that He is, and attracts Him by rolling her eyes, etc., related to playing her eye brows on Him, and makes Him listen to her wishes, and she too stays with Him without ever leaving as said in \u2018<em>iRaiyum<\/em> \u2013 <em>agalakillEn<\/em> [<a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/index.php\/thiruvaimozhi\/\">thiruvAimozhi<\/a> &#8211; 6.10.10]\u2019 (would never leave you) \u2013 husband of such <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\">pirAtti<\/a>; Isn\u2019t She the one who said \u2018<em>na kaschinnAparAdhyathi<\/em>\u2018 (there is no one who does not commit mistakes \u2013 SrI rAmAyaNam yudhdha kANdam 116.45) (when in the group of rAkshashIs in lankA));<\/p>\n<p>(So this is about the husband of such <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\">thAyAr<\/a>, so we can be sure of His kindness towards us);<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/Ramanuja-panguni-uttiram-serthi.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-6724\" src=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/Ramanuja-panguni-uttiram-serthi-1024x745.jpg\" alt=\"Ramanuja panguni uttiram serthi\" width=\"625\" height=\"455\" srcset=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/Ramanuja-panguni-uttiram-serthi-1024x745.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/Ramanuja-panguni-uttiram-serthi-300x218.jpg 300w, https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/Ramanuja-panguni-uttiram-serthi-768x559.jpg 768w, https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/Ramanuja-panguni-uttiram-serthi.jpg 1489w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 625px) 100vw, 625px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong><em>ellA uyirgatkum nAthan <\/em><\/strong><em>&#8211; <\/em>\u00a0As said in \u2018<em>pathim viSvasya\u2019, <\/em>he is the protector of all the <a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/06\/thathva-thrayam-chith-who-am-i\/\">AthmAs<\/a>. He is the lord of all the <a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/06\/thathva-thrayam-chith-who-am-i\/\">AthmAs<\/a>; but, do\u00a0 not think that He is not reachable for us because of what is said in \u2018<em>vidhi Siva sanakAdhyai: dhyAthum athyantha dhUram\u2019<\/em> (<a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\">SrIman nArAyaNan<\/a> is) beyond limits of knowing for \u00a0brahmA, Siva, and his set of offspring)<strong> &#8211;<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>arangan<\/em><\/strong> \u2013 He has come searching for us to our place and having His temple here (in SrIrangam);<\/p>\n<p>Yes, He said \u2018<em>abhayam sarva bhUthEbhyO dhadhAmi\u2019<\/em> (will protect everyone);<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>ennum <\/em><\/strong><em>&#8211; <\/em>\u00a0in that way (<a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a>) advised to us about <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\">emperumAn<\/a>. What is there for us?<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>ellA uyirgatkum nAthan<\/em><\/strong><em> \u2013 <\/em>He is the lord for everyone.
