In this pAsuram \u2013 he is happy about the help done to the world.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Introduction (given by <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/04\/08\/pillai-lokam-jiyar\/\"><strong>piLLailOkam jIyar<\/strong><\/a><strong>)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In the previous pAsuram he was delighted about the help of <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a> to him; In this \u2013 without the request of others, in the incarnation of vAmana as said in \u2018<em>thAL parappi maN thAviya eesanai <\/em>[<a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/index.php\/2016\/08\/thiruvaimozhi-3-3-ozhivil\/\">thiruvAimozhi &#8211; 3.3<\/a>.11]\u2019 (about <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\">emperumAn<\/a> who raised his divine feet and spawned the whole world), He kept his divine feet in everyone\u2019s head and helped them \u2013 like Him (emperumAn), he (<a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a>) too helped everyone regardless of difference of qualification in them, had given them the meanings that goes with the true nature (of <a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/06\/thathva-thrayam-chith-who-am-i\/\">AthmA<\/a>) \u2013 and so (<a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/03\/26\/thiruvarangathu-amudhanar\/\">amudhanAr<\/a>) is delighted about that.<\/p>\n<p><em>sEma nal veedum poruLum dharumamum seeriya naR<\/em><br \/>\n<em>kAmamum enRivai nAngenbar nAnginum kaNNanukkE<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Amadhu kAmam aRam poruL veedu idhaRku enRuRaiththAn<\/em><br \/>\n<em>vAmanan seelan irAmAnusan indha maNmisaiyE\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/em><em>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 40<\/em><\/p>\n<h3><a href=\"http:\/\/yourlisten.com\/sarathy.thothathri\/ramanusa-nurranthadhi-40\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Listen<\/a><\/h3>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" style=\"width: 100%;\" src=\"\/\/yourlisten.com\/embed\/html5?17524611\" width=\"300\" height=\"150\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>Word by word meaning (given by <\/strong><a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/mamunigal\/\"><strong>maNavALa mAmunigaL<\/strong><\/a><strong>)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>vAmanan seelan <\/em>\u00a0&#8211; Without any requirement from our side to Him, He came by Himself to help, as vAmanan;<br \/>\n<em>irAmAnusan \u2013 <\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a> (whose act is equivalent to such act of vAmanan)<br \/>\n<em>uraiththAn \u2013 <\/em>said<br \/>\n<em>indha maN misai \u2013 <\/em>in this earth, that,<br \/>\nas said in \u2018<em>dharma artha kAma mOkshAyA: purushArthA: udhAhruthA<\/em> [SrI parAsarar]<em>\u2019, <\/em><br \/>\n<em>sEmam<\/em> \u2013 being in the form of propriety (<em>kshEmam),<\/em><br \/>\n<em>nal<\/em> \u2013 being distinguished,<br \/>\n<em>veedum<\/em> \u2013 liberation (1),<br \/>\n<em>poruLum<\/em> \u2013 wealth\/material (2),<br \/>\n<em>dharumamum<\/em> \u2013 and virtue (3),<br \/>\n<em>seeriya \u2013 <\/em>unlike the aforementioned that are part of the goal, it by itself being the goal<br \/>\n<em>nar \u2013<\/em> that is the distinguished<br \/>\n<em>kAmamum<\/em> \u2013 affection\/love (4),<br \/>\n<em>ivai nAngu \u2013<\/em> these four are the goals<br \/>\n<em>enbar<\/em> \u2013 so say the authoritative ones;<br \/>\n<em>nAngium<\/em> \u2013 (but) among these four,<br \/>\n<em>kAmam \u2013 <\/em>affection\/love<br \/>\n<em>kaNNanukkE Am <\/em>\u00a0&#8211; <em>\u00a0<\/em>\u00a0is to be towards <a href=\"https:\/\/granthams.koyil.org\/2013\/03\/12\/thathva-thrayam-iswara-who-is-god\/\">sarvESvaran<\/a>; and<br \/>\n<em>aRam \u2013 <\/em>virtue (<em>dharmam)<\/em><br \/>\n<em>poruL \u2013 <\/em>wealth\/material (<em>arththam)<\/em><br \/>\n<em>veedu \u2013 <\/em>and liberation <em>(mOksham) (are to be aids towards such love towards krishNan)<\/em>, among these,<br \/>\n<em>dharmam, <\/em>as said in \u2018<em>dharmENa pApamapanudhathi\u2019 <\/em>(sins would be removed by doing dharmam) enables the decline of sins, and since <em>arththam<\/em> by way of charity is helpful for <em>kAmam<\/em>, and since <em>mOksham<\/em> helps in keeping and continuously enjoying <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\">emperumAn<\/a> with kAmam,<\/p>\n<p>(so, all the three are to aid <em>kAmam)<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>idhaRku enRu<\/em> \u2013 these three would be only just part of help in being together with <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\">emperumAn<\/a> as based on affection\/love <em>(kAmam).<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Oh <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a> is saying this to help us without looking for us to ask about the truth \u2013 so delighted is <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/03\/26\/thiruvarangathu-amudhanar\/\">amudhanAr<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>When recited as \u2018<em>vAmanan seer<strong>ai<\/strong>\u2019<\/em> \u2013 He incarnated as <em>vAmanan<\/em> and mingled with everyone without expecting us to request or not \u2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a> established the nature of <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\">emperumAn<\/a> that is, that one does not have to go through suffering (penances, etc.) for getting that goal \u2013 thus <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/03\/26\/thiruvarangathu-amudhanar\/\">amudhanAr<\/a> is showing us about how <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a> showed the greatness of vAmanan. The previous explanation is better than this, in terms of connection of words and weight of meaning.<\/p>\n<p><strong>vyAk<em>yAnam<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>sEma nal veedum<\/em><\/strong> \u2013 One that can give liberation (mOksham), as said in \u2018<em>thamasa:parasthAth\u2019<\/em>, being non-material world, that is, <em>paramapadham<\/em>, which is said as <em>ayOdhyA<\/em> (not breakable)<em>,<\/em> and <em>aparAjithA<\/em> (not winnable);<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>poruLum<\/em><\/strong> \u2013 being part of the aforementioned series, being the means, helps to perform the means \u2013 such wealth earned in ways allowed by SAsthram;<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>dharumamum<\/em><\/strong><em> &#8211; <\/em>\u00a0being of daily (like sandhyAvandhanam) and situation specific acts (like deeds to do related to solar eclipse), being in the form of worshiping, being distinguished based on varNASramam \u2013 such <em>dharmam<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>seeriya naR kAmamum<\/em><\/strong> \u2013 love\/affection that is celebrated in SAsthram, being enjoyable, and prescribed by the scriptures, being goal by itself \u2013 that kind of <em>kAmam<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>enRivai nAngenbar<\/em><\/strong> \u2013 those like <em>vyAsar<\/em>, <em>parAsarar, et al,\u00a0 <\/em>who are well versed in SAsthras would say that the goal are of such four types; it is as said in \u2018<em>dharma artha kAma mOkshAyA: purushArthA: udhAhruthA\u2019;<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>Out of these four, the three &#8211; <em>dharma, artha, and kAmam <\/em>are related to material\/being with our body, would be of mismatch with the true nature, and would have to experienced along with this body; the important one that is <em>mOksham <\/em>would be after the time one gets liberated from the material world, it would be non-material, and at the time he takes on the special body, and it is when going to the special place (paramapadham); mOksham would be the benefit by itself for those who use some other means to achieve this;<\/p>\n<p>but (<a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a> shows that) this would be different for those who have understood the true nature of themselves\u00a0 (AthmA).\u00a0 This is because, the sentient who is subservient as if an insentient, and who does not seek any benefit for himself, and thinks that the loss (of mOksham) is of the master only, and so is of full faith in this, (would consider love towards <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\">emperumAn<\/a> as the main goal).<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>nAnginum<\/em><\/strong><strong> \u2013 <\/strong>(<a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a> explained, that) out of the four goals,<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>kaNNanukE Am adhu kAmam<\/em><\/strong> \u2013 as said in \u2018<em>na kAma kalusham chiththam mamathE parshoschitham kAmayEvaishNavaththanthu sarva janmasu kEvalam<\/em> [jithanthE sthOthram]<em>\u2019<\/em> (not interested in other things, and only wishes (kAmam) for being born as a SrI vaishNava in any number of births), and, \u2018<em>na dhEvalOkA kramaNam na amarathvam ahamgruNE aiSvaryam vApi lOkANAm kAmayE nathvayAvinA\u2019 <\/em>(lakshmaNa says, I don\u2019t wish for the post of Indhira, brahma, etc., and my wish is to be only with you), and \u2018<em>kAma krOdha nruNAm lOkE nirayasyaiva kAraNam|mukthayEgObIsvaradhvishAm&#8230;<\/em>\u2019 (love towards things of the material world is the cause of getting hell; love towards <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\">emperumAn<\/a> would reach you to the great experience of <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\">emperumAn<\/a>),\u00a0 and as krishNan said &#8220;<em>priyOhi gyAninO&#8217;thyarththamaham sa cha mama priya:&#8221;<\/em> (I am not able to show even a small part of the love that my devotees show towards me), and prahlAdhan prayed as \u2018<em>yApreethi avivEkAnAm vishayEshu anapAyini, thAm anusmara hrudhayAn kAma sarpathu\u2018<\/em> (happiness in worldly matters would only dim the true knowledge; let me always have love towards you, protect me from being interested in other things), and as parAsara bhattar said, \u2018<em>svAmithvam prArthanA<\/em><em>ncha<\/em>\u2019 (pray to <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\">emperumAn<\/a> the love towards Him), the main goal would be the love to join the established master that is sarvESvaran; that is, avoiding any <em>ahankAram<\/em> related to doing it for our happiness, but doing it only for His happiness \u2013 doing only such joining with <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\">emperumAn<\/a> is the utmost goal.<\/p>\n<p>By <em>kaNNanukkE<\/em> \u2013 <em>only<\/em> for kaNNan \u2013 is as said in \u2018<em>thanakkEyAga enaik koLLum<\/em> [<a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/index.php\/2016\/06\/thiruvaimozhi-2-9-4-enakke-atchey\/\">thiruvAimozhi &#8211; 2.9.4<\/a>]\u2019 (wish krishNan to say &#8220;always exclusively serve me&#8221;), and \u2018<em>uRROmE AvOm unakkE nAm At cheivOm maRRai nam kAmangaL mARRu<\/em> [<a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/index.php\/2015\/01\/thiruppavai-29-chirram-chirukale\/\">thiruppAvai &#8211; 29<\/a>]\u2019 (we shall be related to you, we shall be subservient to you only, kindly prevent us having interest in other matters) \u2013 should have such a state.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/Nammazhwar-krishna.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2385\" src=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/Nammazhwar-krishna.jpg\" alt=\"Nammazhwar-krishna\" width=\"568\" height=\"607\" srcset=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/Nammazhwar-krishna.jpg 568w, https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/Nammazhwar-krishna-281x300.jpg 281w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 568px) 100vw, 568px\" \/><\/a><em>Who is having more kAmam?<\/em><\/p>\n<p>So, for the person involved in this, love towards <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\">emperumAn<\/a> only would be the prime goal.<\/p>\n<p>(kAmam towards lowly\/other matters brings sorrows) What perumAL (SrI rAman) (said in \u2018<em>kAma Eva artha dharmAbhyAm gareeyAn ithimE mathi:<\/em> [SrI rAmAyaNam \u2013 Chapter 53, Verse 9]<em>\u2019<\/em> (my mind thinks that it seems that more than arththam or dharmam, it is kAmam that is of greatness (looking at the poor state of dasarathan))<em>,<\/em> was ironical praise, it rejected the love towards prohibited ways;<\/p>\n<p>(then, did he say clearly about illness of love towards other matters?) He himself has said clearly the meaning in \u2018<em>artha dharmau parithyajya ya:kAmam anuvarthathE \u2013 Evam ApathyadhE kshipram rAjA dhaSarathOyathA<\/em> [SrI rAmAyaNam \u2013 Chapter 53, Verse 13]<em>\u2019 <\/em>(who goes behind kAmam leaving artham and dharmam<em>, <\/em>will have to suffer very soon; like dhaSarathan who is suffering by separating from me).<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>aRam poruL veedu idhaRku enRu uraiththAn<\/em><\/strong><strong> \u2013 <em>aRam<\/em> \u2013<\/strong> <em>visEsha dharmam<\/em> \u2013 as said in \u2018<em>guNairdhAsyamupAgatha:\u2019, <\/em>and, \u2018<em>aham sarvam karishyAmi\u2019, <\/em>and, \u2018<em>unakkE nAm At cheyvOm <\/em>[<a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/index.php\/2015\/01\/thiruppavai-29-chirram-chirukale\/\">thiruppAvai &#8211; 29<\/a>]<em>\u2019 <\/em>(We would do services to you only); doing services like \u2018<em>aupachArikam\u2019<\/em> (<em>argyam, pAthyam, Achamaneeyam <\/em>during <a href=\"http:\/\/ponnadi.blogspot.in\/2012\/07\/srivaishnava-thiruvaaraadhanam.html\">thiruvArAdhanam<\/a>), \u2018<em>sAmsparSikam<\/em>\u2019 (what we touch and present to <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\">emperumAn<\/a>, like sandal paste etc., during <a href=\"http:\/\/ponnadi.blogspot.in\/2012\/07\/srivaishnava-thiruvaaraadhanam.html\">thiruvArAdhanam<\/a>), \u2018<em>bhOjyam\u2019 <\/em>(presenting the food prasAdham);<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>&#8211;<\/em><em> poruL<\/em><em> \u2013<\/em><\/strong> money for helping in services, for making food prasAdham, for decorating <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\">emperumAn<\/a>, etc.<\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8211; <em>veedu \u2013<\/em><\/strong> the place for earning money and doing dharma, for making that happen; \/ for doing loving services;<strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8211; <em>idhaRku enRu <\/em><\/strong><em>\u2013<\/em> (<a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a> said) that the aforementioned would be a part of and in support of <em>kAmam<\/em> that is about being together with <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\">emperumAn<\/a>;<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>indha maN misaiyE<\/em><\/strong> \u2013 not in the other world, but here in this big earth that creates illiteracy to every one (is where <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a> advised about this).<strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>vAmanan seelan<\/em><\/strong> \u2013 (<a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a> too) like vAmanan, had came by himself without anyone pleading for it etc., and helped;<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>irAmAnusan \u2013<\/em><\/strong> (such) <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>uraiththAn <\/em><\/strong><em>\u2013 <\/em>gave such meaning in this place, the noble meaning which is supposed to be told in the other world;<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>vAmanan seelan<\/em><\/strong><strong> \u2013<\/strong> In SrI vAmana avathAram, without anybody pleading etc., He had kept his divine feet as said in \u2018<em>nalladippOdhu <\/em>[<a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/index.php\/2015\/07\/thiruvaimozhi-1-3-10-thuyakkaru-mathiyil\/\">thiruvAimozhi &#8211; 1.3.10<\/a>]<em>\u2019 <\/em>(distinct\/beautiful lotus feet), on everyone\u2019s head without making distinction of great sage like vaSishtar or a lowly person;<\/p>\n<p>In the same way, since,<\/p>\n<p>as said in \u2018<em>nidhidhyAsithavya:\u2019<\/em>, etc., as commanded by SAsthram, and as said in \u2018<em>mahaneeya vishayE preethirbhakthi:\u2019, <\/em>he divined about this kAmam that is based on bhakthi, in his SrIbAshyam, and for every one in the world to get the taste of being with <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\">emperumAn<\/a> he preached without distinction of their qualification; so His nature is also his nature, and he became similar to Him.<\/p>\n<p><strong>From AzhwAr thirunagari SrI U.Ve. <em>vidhwAn thirumalai nallAn chakravarththi rAmakrishNa iyengAr\u2019s \u2018amudha virundhu\u2019:<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>To distinguish from the liberation for <em>kaivalyam, <\/em>he is calling SrIvaikuNtam as \u2018<em>nal\u2019 veedu.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>poruL<\/em> is the means for <em>dharmam. dharmam <\/em>is directly the means for such veedu. Money earned in the correct\/prescribed ways for the purpose of worshiping <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\">emperumAn<\/a> (<a href=\"http:\/\/ponnadi.blogspot.in\/2012\/07\/srivaishnava-thiruvaaraadhanam.html\">thiruvArAdhanam<\/a>) is the goal.<\/p>\n<p>This is as said in \u2018<em>yagyArthAth karmaNOnyathra lOkOyam karma bhandhana: | thadh artham karma kaunthEya muktha sagassmAchara ||<\/em>\u2019 (Deeds other than earning money etc., for the purpose of bhagavath ArAdhanam, any deed done for one\u2019s own benefit, would bind one in this material world; So, Oh arjunA! without any interest in other things, do earning etc., for doing bhagavath ArAdhanam only).<\/p>\n<p>This is also as said in \u2018<em>nyAyArjitha dhanEna mahA yagyAdhikam kruthvA thachchishtAchanEnaiva sareera dhAraNam kAryam\u2019<\/em> (using the money earned in appropriate way, do big yagyas, etc., and eat only what remains from it, and in that way only sustain the body).<\/p>\n<p>Combining \u2018<em>maN misaiyE\u2019 <\/em>\u00a0with \u2018<em>kaNNan\u2019<\/em>, we can see that the kAmam is towards the <em>archchAvathAram<\/em> in this world where <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\">emperumAn<\/a> with his beauty has attracted us and made us love him in this form.<\/p>\n<p>Like how vAmanan with his smartness got the world from <em>mahAbali<\/em>, <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a> too got from me by his smartness; he got from me the master of the world, that is, arangan.\u00a0 vAmanan gave the world to indhiran saying that it belongs to him. <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a> too gave the owner of the world to the SrIvaishNavas saying that He belongs to them.
