Among the several <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Svadhyayas<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, one type is discoursing Purvacharya\u2019s <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">granthas <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">to the disciples. This is being mentioned in <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Uttara Dinacharyai Sloka<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> 1 <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Vakyalankruti Vakyanam Vyakyadaram.<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> But thinking about the newly written <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Stotra<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> called <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Yathiraja Vimsati,<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> which speaks the devotion on Emberumanar, who is an Acharya to Mamunigal, Erumbiappa repeats the<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Stotra.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Nammalvar is called <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Prapannajanakutastha,<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> which means that Nammalvar is the <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mula purusha, <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the primordial one, in the practice of \u00a0<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Prapatti<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> which speaks that <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bhagavan<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is the only means to give liberation. Manavala Mamunigal, who is worshipped by all, got Upadesa on the chronology of Acharyas starting from Nammalvar down to his Acharya Tiruvoymozhi Pillai. The gist of three <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">rahasyas<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> viz.<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tirumantra, Dvaya<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Charama Sloka<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, mainly speaks that Bhagavat Ramanuja is a means to attain liberation and he is the only to be attained. With such constant bhakti and grace, Mamunigal desired to liberate the people from the cycle of birth, wrote a <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Stotra<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> called \u00a0Yathiraja Vimsati. With a view to \u00a0bless him with no interruptions while writing <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Stotra<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, he prayed in the first two <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Slokas <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">worshipping Yathiraja.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This text reveals the gist of <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Rahasyas<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Sri Annaappangar Swami, the commentator of this text says the words of three <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Rahasyas<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> combined with 20 in number is accepted in this text. One can notice that Yatiraja Vimsati <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Stotra<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is the collection of twenty words \u00a0&#8211; \u00a0three words on <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tirumantra<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, six words on <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dvaya<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and eleven words on <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Charama Sloka<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. The word Vimsati means twenty.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Thaniyan<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><b><i> \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Yah stutim Yathipati prasadineem vyajahara Yathiraja Vimsatim \/<\/i><\/b><br \/>\n<b><i> \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Tam prapannajana chatakambujam nowmi sowmya Varayogi pungavam \/\/<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<h3>word-by-word meanings<\/h3>\n<p><b><i>Yah <\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0\u2013 whoever<br \/>\n<\/span><b><i>Yathipati prasadineem <\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0\u2013 pleads Yatiraja to shower his grace<br \/>\n<\/span><b><i>Yathiraja Vimsatim <\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0\u2013 the matter that pertains to Yatiraja in twenty Slokas, which is called Yatiraja Vimsati<br \/>\n<\/span><b><i>stutim<\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u00a0\u2013 that Stotra<br \/>\n<\/span><b><i>vyajahara \u2013 <\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">wrote<br \/>\n<\/span><b><i>prapanna jana chatakambujam \u00a0&#8211; <\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Like skylark which gives water to skylarks drawn from the cloud, Mamunigal is helping the people who did prapatti<br \/>\n<\/span><b><i>Tam Varayogi pungavam<\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u00a0&#8211; that beautiful Alagiya Manavala Mamunigal, a great saint<br \/>\n<\/span><b><i>nowmi<\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u00a0&#8211; worshipping. <\/span><\/p>\n<h3>Simple Translation<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This Taniyan was written by Erumbiappa. \u00a0The word <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Yathipati prasadinee<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> means that this <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Stotra<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> will have effect in getting the grace of Emberumanar for those who recites this. \u00a0The word <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">prapannajana chatakambuda<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> means like Emberumanar is like cloud which showers water for the living of a skylark, Emberumanar is helping the people who did prapatti.
