We will see them now briefly with their meanings.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/srivaishna-guruparamparai.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-133\" src=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/srivaishna-guruparamparai.jpg\" alt=\"srivaishna-guruparamparai\" width=\"827\" height=\"569\" srcset=\"https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/srivaishna-guruparamparai.jpg 827w, https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/srivaishna-guruparamparai-300x206.jpg 300w, https:\/\/divyaprabandham.koyil.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/srivaishna-guruparamparai-768x528.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 827px) 100vw, 827px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>thaniyan glorifying <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/23\/azhagiya-manavala-mamunigal\/\">maNavALa mAmunigaL<\/a> &#8211; composed by namperumAL (<a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\">SrI ranganAthan<\/a>)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>SrISailESa dhayApAthram dhIbhakthyAdhi guNArNavam<\/em><br \/>\n<em> yathIndhra pravaNam vandhE ramya jAmAtharam munim<\/em><\/p>\n<p>I worship <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/23\/azhagiya-manavala-mamunigal\/\">azhagiya maNavALa mAmunigaL<\/a> who is the target of <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/19\/thiruvaimozhi-pillai\/\">thirumalai AzhwAr<\/a>\u2019s mercy, who is an ocean of auspicious qualities such as knowledge, devotion, etc. and who is greatly attached to yathIndhra (<a href=\"http:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/emperumanar\/\">SrI rAmAnuja<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>As hailed in &#8220;<em>ippuviyil arangEsaRku IdaLiththAn vAzhiyE<\/em>&#8221; (one who lectured the Idu vyAkyAnam to <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\">SrI ranganAthan<\/a> in this world), <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/23\/azhagiya-manavala-mamunigal\/\">mANavALa mAmunigaL<\/a> explained Idu vyAkyAnam &#8211; the most glorious commentary for thiruvAimothi to <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\">SrI ranganAthan<\/a> in SrIrangam. On the day of sARRumuRai (completion),\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\">SrI ranganAthan<\/a> himself assumed the form of a small child and appeared in the great assembly. He humbly recited this glorious thaniyan starting with SrISailESa dhayApAthram in front of <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/23\/azhagiya-manavala-mamunigal\/http:\/\/\">mAmunigaL<\/a>. He also ordered that all SrIvaishNavas should recite this thaniyan both in the beginning and ending of dhivya prabandham (which is hailed as thamizh\/dhrAvida vEdham) recital, just like praNavam is recited both at the beginning and ending of samskrutha vEdham recital. <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/23\/azhagiya-manavala-mamunigal\/\">mANavALa mAmunigaL<\/a>&#8216;s AchArya <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/19\/thiruvaimozhi-pillai\/\">thiruvAimozhi piLLai<\/a> is also known as SrISailanAtha (thirumalai AzhwAr) and SrISailESa.<\/p>\n<p><strong>thaniyan glorifying our guruparamparai &#8211; composed by <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/10\/05\/kurathazhwan\/\">kUraththAzhwAn<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>lakshmInAtha samArambhAm nAthayAmuna madhyamAm<\/em><br \/>\n<em> asmadhAchArya paryanthAm vandhE guruparamparAm<\/em><\/p>\n<p>I worship the glorious <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/\">guru paramparai<\/a> which starts with Sriman nArAyaNan, has <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/22\/nathamunigal\/\">nAthamunigaL<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/01\/alavandhar\/\">yAmunAchAryar<\/a> in the middle and ends with SrI rAmAnuja who is my Acharya.<\/p>\n<p><strong>thaniyan glorifying <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr (SrI rAmAnuja)<\/a> &#8211; composed by <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/10\/05\/kurathazhwan\/\">kUraththAzhwAn<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>yOnithyam achyutha padhAmbhuja yugma rukma<\/em><br \/>\n<em> vyAmOhathas thadhitharANi thruNAya mEnE<\/em><br \/>\n<em> asmadh gurOr bhagavathOsya dhayaika sindhO:<\/em><br \/>\n<em> rAmAnujasya charaNau SaraNam prapadhyE<\/em><\/p>\n<p>I surrender unto the lotus feet of <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">SrI rAmAnuja (emperumAnAr)<\/a> who is very attached to the golden lotus feet of <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\">SrIman nArAyaNan<\/a> and who thus considers everything else as a piece of grass (insignificant), who is my AchArya and who is an ocean of mercy and all other most auspicious qualities.<\/p>\n<p><strong>thaniyan glorifying <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/18\/nammazhwar-english\/\">nammAzhwAr<\/a> &#8211; composed by <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/01\/alavandhar\/\">ALavandhAr<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>mAthA pithA yuvathayas thanayA vibhUthi:<\/em><br \/>\n<em> sarvam ya dhEva niyamEna madhanvayAnAm<\/em><br \/>\n<em> Adhyasyana: kulapathEr vakuLAbirAmam<\/em><br \/>\n<em> SrImath thadhangriyugaLam praNamAmi mUrdhnA<\/em><\/p>\n<p>I bow down at the lotus feet of <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/18\/nammazhwar-english\/\">nammAzhwAr<\/a> whose lotus feet are always the mother, father, children, wealth and everything else and who is the leader of our SrIvaishNava community and such lotus feet are decorated with maghizha flowers and always radiantly glowing.<\/p>\n<p><strong>thaniyan glorifying <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/azhwars\/\">AzhwArs<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a> &#8211; composed by <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/11\/parasara-bhattar\/\">parAsara bhattar<\/a><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>bhUtham saraScha mahadhAhvaya bhattanAtha<\/em><br \/>\n<em> SrI bhakthisAra kulasEkara yOgivAhAn<\/em><br \/>\n<em> bhakthAngri rENu parakAla yathIndhra miSrAn<\/em><br \/>\n<em> SrImath parAnkuSa munim praNathOsmi nithyam<\/em><\/p>\n<p>I always worship <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/18\/nammazhwar-english\/\">nammAzhwAr<\/a> along with <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/10\/22\/mudhalazhwargal\/\">bhUthaththAzhwAr<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/10\/22\/mudhalazhwargal\/\">poigai AzhwAr<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/10\/22\/mudhalazhwargal\/\">pEyAzhwAr<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/01\/20\/periyazhwar\/\">periyAzhwAr<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/01\/16\/thirumazhisai-azhwar\/\">thirumazhisai AzhwAr<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/01\/18\/kulasekara-azhwar\/\">kulasEkara AzhwAr<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/01\/21\/thiruppanazhwar\/\">thiruppANAzhwAr<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/01\/08\/thondaradippodi-azhwar\/\">thoNdaradippodi AzhwAr<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/01\/23\/thirumangai-azhwar\/\">thirumangai AzhwAr<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>This slokAm is recited everyday in glorification of the 10 <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/azhwars\/\">AzhwArs<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a> who is the most important of our AchArya paramparai. Some may think that this slOkam is not done in proper order starting with <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/10\/22\/mudhalazhwargal\/\">poigai AzhwAr<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/10\/22\/mudhalazhwargal\/\">bhUthaththAzhwAr<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/10\/22\/mudhalazhwargal\/\">pEyAzhwAr<\/a>, etc. It is not so. Though It is not difficult to write it as &#8220;<em>kAsAra bhUtha mahadhAhvaya bhakthisArAn SrImachchatAri kulasEkara bhattanAthAn, bhakthAngrirENu munivAhana kArthikEyAn rAmAnujancha yaminam praNathOsmi nithyam<\/em>&#8220;, it is not so tasteful. There is a reason for the way <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/11\/parasara-bhattar\/\">bhattar<\/a> has coined the slOkam starting with <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/10\/22\/mudhalazhwargal\/\">bhUthaththAzhwAr<\/a> and ending with <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/18\/nammazhwar-english\/\">nammAzhwAr<\/a>. Let us see it now:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/18\/nammazhwar-english\/\">nammAzhwAr<\/a> who is hailed as the chief of <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/azhwars\/\">AzhwArs<\/a> is glorified by our pUrvAchAryas in some slOkams as the avayavi (whole) and other <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/azhwars\/\">AzhwArs<\/a> as his various parts such as head, eyes, etc. In such slOkams, <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/10\/22\/mudhalazhwargal\/\">bhUthaththAzhwAr <\/a>is highlighted as the head, <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/10\/22\/mudhalazhwargal\/\">poigai AzhwAr<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/10\/22\/mudhalazhwargal\/\">pEyAzhwAr<\/a> are highlighted as the eyes, <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/01\/20\/periyazhwar\/\">periyAzhwAr<\/a> is highlighted as the face, <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/01\/16\/thirumazhisai-azhwar\/\">thirumazhisai AzhwAr<\/a> is highlighted as the neck, <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/01\/18\/kulasekara-azhwar\/\">kulasEkara perumAL<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/01\/21\/thiruppanazhwar\/\">thiruppAN perumAL<\/a> are highlighted as hands, <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/01\/08\/thondaradippodi-azhwar\/\">thoNdaradippodi AzhwAr<\/a> is highlighted as the chest, <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2013\/01\/23\/thirumangai-azhwar\/\">thirumangai AzhwAr<\/a> is highlighted as the naval and <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">yathirAja (SrI rAmAnuja)<\/a> is highlighted as the lotus feet. This thaniyan matches such practice of highlighting <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/18\/nammazhwar-english\/\">nammAzhwAr<\/a> as the whole and the other <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/azhwars\/\">AzhwArs<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a> as the parts. Please understand that it is perfectly reconciled that other <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/azhwars\/\">AzhwArs<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/06\/emperumanar\/\">emperumAnAr<\/a> (the parts) are highlighted first and <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/18\/nammazhwar-english\/\">nammAzhwAr<\/a> (the whole) who is hailed as prapanna jana kUtasthar (the chief among the community of surrendered persons) is highlighted in the end. This slOkam was composed by <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/11\/parasara-bhattar\/\">bhattar<\/a> on the request of <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/14\/nanjiyar-english\/\">nanjIyar<\/a> when they were staying in thirukkOshtiyUr.<\/p>\n<p>This translation is done based on kAnchIpuram prathivAdhi bhayankaram aNNangarAchAryar swamy&#8217;s explanations given in nithyAnusandhAnam book published by Vedics Foundation and Grantha Mala Office (Triplicane).<\/p>\n<p><strong>thaniyan glorifiying <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/30\/ponnadikkal-jiyar\/\">ponnadikkAl jIyar<\/a> &#8211; composed by dhoddaiyangAr appai (one of the ashta dhik gajas &#8211; eight primary disciples of <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/30\/ponnadikkal-jiyar\/\">ponnadikkAl jIyar<\/a>)<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>ramya jAmAthru yOgIndhra pAdharEkhA mayam sadhA<br \/>\nthadhA yaththAthma saththAdhim rAmAnuja munim bhajE<\/em><\/p>\n<p>I worship vAnamAmalai jIyar who is like the imprints of <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/23\/azhagiya-manavala-mamunigal\/\">mAmunigaL<\/a>\u2019s lotus feet and who fully depends on <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/23\/azhagiya-manavala-mamunigal\/\">mAmunigaL<\/a> to establish his true nature (as a servant of mAmunigaL), sustenance, activities, etc.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/30\/ponnadikkal-jiyar\/\">ponnadikkAl jIyar<\/a> (the first sishya of <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/23\/azhagiya-manavala-mamunigal\/\">mAmunigaL<\/a> and the founder of vAnamAmalai\/thOthAdhri mutt per the orders of <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/08\/17\/divya-dhampathi\/\">SrI ranganAthan<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/acharyas.koyil.org\/index.php\/2012\/09\/23\/azhagiya-manavala-mamunigal\/\">mAmunigaL<\/a>) thaniyan is recited In vAnamAmalai dhivya dhEsam, dhivya dhEsams in navathiruppathi area, <a href=\"http:\/\/vanamamalai.us\">vAnamAmalai mutt<\/a>s and at the homes of <a href=\"http:\/\/vanamamalai.us\">vAnamAmalai mutt<\/a> sishyas. This thaniyan is recited immediately after <em>SrISailESa dhayApAthram<\/em> thaniyan usually.
